well the car will be scrapped 14 days after its lifted then.
dvla wont sell the car unless its valued at over 5,000 quid ( the lad at the storage place where the dvla keep the untaxed cars told me this )

You can't 'Win' with these UK authorities whatever you do.

I see the Traffic Police or whatever they are these days sat around most days by the roundabouts etc.

THE POLICE FINALLY ADMITTED THE OTHER WEEK THAT THEY DON'T STOP ETHNIC DRIVERS IN BRADFORD AS IT WILL CAUSE A POSSIBLE RIOT (AGAIN)

One Ex Senior WY Officer told me when I visited his home on Business that he instructed his Officers NOT TO STOP ETHNICS IN BRADFORD??

Unbelievable but true So one rule for 1 and 1 rule for the other?

I wouldn't say the OP has 'Committed' a Major Offence, But just an Oversight or like He/She has said = No Money??

You will know then that in Spain, cars are lifted and impounded for just parking illegally.

Whilst what you say about W Yorks really doesn't surprise me and is a disgrace, I think you'll find its more usually the DVLA, traffic wardens and maybe speed cameras which go after innocent people making trivial mistakes. Most traffic cops will only go after people doing something actually dangerous/stupid/careless, rather than people 'merely' breaking the letter of the law.

No, I know for a fact that when they (2 person team) returns to their base their OIC will ask them how many drivers they have stopped, Cautioned & reported.

Some OIC were notorious years ago for telling their officers to 'RAMP IT UP' a bit and STOP MORE drivers, Even if it means for no apparent reason just to make the numbers up.

Just to keep the OIC's OIC of their backs regarding the statistics.

I think the drivers who drive whilst speaking on their phone should be stopped and have their mobile phone crushed in front of them!!

The police don't always play by their set rules you know?
