Im making some of the presents this year, MIL even asked for a scrapbook of the kids etc as her present so im going to make up a hamper for her with some of my homemade marmalades etc, covered candles and the album plus some other probably shop bought bits - chocs etc

My sis is on here too so we always make each other something for birthdays and Christmas, our other sister loves handmade and our mum is a cardmaker so i guess we are really lucky that we all appreciate the time and effort that goes into handmade presents

I wish I was good at crafty stuff so I could make HM pressies for people, although i'm not sure if anybody I know would appreciate them!
I would love to receive HM presents though, there are some really pretty and amazing things on the threads on here, it'd mean a lot more to me than getting a cheap and nasty bath set! Think happy & you'll be happy

I can't believe that some people don't appreciate the thought and effort that goes into h/m gifts. I'm glad to receive anything at all and to think that someone had put so much time, effort and thought into making someone that they had specifically thought i'd like, i'd be over the moon!
Don't be disheartened by the shallow people, it's a lovely thing that you are doing!0 -

What do you think?
Oh, I would love to do this! I was looking at a swap site before, where you post a little profile about yourself, what stuff you would like to receive, what you wouldn't, your interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes etc so people can send you something they think you would like. And then people would post new topics with the theme of the swap, so it could be papercrafts, things from the place you come from, bath stuff, monkeys, anything really. We should totally do it :rotfl:

I work in the service industry and get lots of pressies at christmas, all of which are very much appreciated, a couple of my fav's are knitted fingerless gloves, as I work mainly outside, and some posts of homemade jam/marmaladeDebt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb

I made loads of stuff for presents last year and am doing the same this year but being a bit more choosy with who gets them
. Some people will get bought gifts as I know they don't really appreciate homemade stuff. Likewise with cards, if people don't appreciate them I am sending cheap bought ones I got in the sales x
I for one would love more people to make something to give me but nobody does except for my lovely boys when they do craft stuff at school or playschool.
I'd be up for a gift swap but haven't a clue how to arrange one...? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
We talked about a swap a few months ago, lots of people said they were interested but we wern't allowed to arrange it on this site. One of us set up a blog and tried to arrange it that way - but only 4 of us are now going through with it
. I think its a really nice idea. Some of my lot appreciate HM gifts. Last year i made 2 hampers, some HM chocs, and every one had an Alan Dart Gnome. I made 7 of them, everyone loved them and all still have them sitting on a shelf - "A Gnome is for life - not just for Christmas!":D
Here are a couple of them

Wow craftlady, I love your gnomes, they are fab!!!
I am another one of the four who is taking part in the Xmas hamper swap! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
It's a shame it fizzled down to just 4 of us. Maybe we could do one for Easter if there is more interest. I love getting prezzie - but it's always me who makes the effort. I recently made a friend the a scrap book for her 40th, decorated the front and done the first 6 pages with pics from her party and said she should do the rest with more party pics that she had taken. Few months later for my 40th she gave me a smelly set (nice one) and commented thats the kind of thing I would have liked to get:eek:Wooligans member 2010 - 6 animal blankets. 2 angel wraps, 2 baby hat, 4 Aaron squares, 5 cardigans
