Those figures are looking great now.
How lovely to have the choice to not take on the students again.Must be lovely having your house to yourselves.0 -
We do miss the students, as almost without exception they have been fab people to have around. Thankfully we do keep in touch with most of them.
It is nice to have the house to ourselves, but the £5000 tax free reduction in income is certainly noticeable!
Still, we can't have everything, and as I said above, we can always have occasional short term students, so from time to time that will help. £5000, however, would pay for DS to ski for a season, so it is really a huge amount of money we have turned down
Instead, skiing etc has to come out of the already stretched household budgets and overpayment "schemes".....meaning that overpayment has slowed down considerably. However, it is all about getting that balance right, and although many would say the skiing is a waste of money, I say it is all about making the most of life whilst being sensible with your cash :money:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Think of how it will be thirty years on .......your children all grown up and married with children of their own, your OH dozing in the armchair by the fire and you the mad granny in the attic being cared for in your old age as you sit there muttering "scratches....banking.....quidco.....MSE....must save moneeeeey....."One life - your life - live it!0
