I can't deny that the drop in income has made a difference to our ability to repay the debt quicker......but at the end of the day, as long as we are still making reasonable headway, then that is fine.
And of course, if needs must, we can go back to having students in the future, so it is not as though we have burnt our bridges there! I certainly envisage having the short term students from time to time.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hypno aren't you going to have to jump through more hoops now if you have a student I saw some news about it the other day that the checks are getting tighter...not that you have anything to hide of course...I just meant the extra hassle.
Its nice now for you to have the choice now whether to have a student or not, things might be tighter but choice is a luxury none of us can knock isn't it, well done.0 -
Morning Hypno,
glad the money is all worked out.

Hi Hypno
I wouldnt be so sure about the post. Yesterday I got 5 letters and was left with the feeling that in London the postal service might actually be better on strike days. For those of you who do not live in London we have been suffering from post arriving weeks late or not at all for some time now.
Also with the poor economic figures out today I would just like to repeat my call for Hypno for Chancellor of the Exchequer. Who would be better at getting the economy out of debt?I am an Independent Financial Adviser. For regulated individuals like me there are rules on giving financial advice. Therefore any posts I make are meant to be helpful but are not financial advice.0 -
Good morning Hypno and Happy Payday! Mine isn't till next week so it's counting down the days time.....
Agree with comments about folks on Location x 3, the couple with a million to spend and 30-odd criteria to be met needed a jolly good smacking, and as for the bloke and his wife with the racing camels, so far up themselves you could barely see the soles of their shoes! It would be nice to see more typical examples of housebuyers on there, people with small budgets who have to watch the pennies. I suppose that does not make such good television.
Still, at least we can all aspire to the million pound mansions........One life - your life - live it!0 -

Total only changed by £15.....hardly noticable! The 0% runs out in June, by which time I am hoping to be more or less free of all the debt!Hi Hypno

My post today consisted of one hand delivery.......Keeping_Motivated wrote: »Hypno aren't you going to have to jump through more hoops now if you have a student I saw some news about it the other day that the checks are getting tighter...not that you have anything to hide of course...I just meant the extra hassle.
We have to be CRB checked, boiler service produced, home visits if they want to, as a matter of course anyway for the students we have so it wouldn't make a lot of difference to us. I think because we were basically their "family" for up to a year, it was always going to be tighter than just having exchange students for a week or so.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I'll put it on here this evening......you'll just have to hang on a little longer
B!ngo money has been received in the bank this afternoon, so £40 has been transferred to the 0% card.......which took me to another full square, which of course has been duly coloured in
Another casino reload, giving a profit of about £18 has been done too......which will probably hit my account at the end of next week, and which too will go to the 0% card.
Getting there.......thank goodness for bingo, scratchcards and casinos :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I'm not so sure about the mortgage, but the rest of the debt should be almost put to bed by then.
