well done on getting the CT rebanding, i wish i could apply to get mine rebanded but until they create a A- band it won't happen. Why should i pay for a one bed flat what others pay for a two bed terraced house? stomping of feet going on here. Good luck with parents evening, take a book for the long wait you'll have ot undertake.

Shortbird, unfortunately ebay and amazon users will suffer with the postal strike, and I fear that there will be more to come. Do these people not know how much we rely on our second class postal service!!

Oh I forgot about that effect! I've been on a bit of a roll, quietly, getting my paypal account in order, finding out how to sell on ebay, and we're facing a postal strike next week! Rats....... well, I can get it all set up, I suppose, with all that spare time I have.....

No one came to visit - thank goodness, it would have involved a panic tidy!!

I just did my homework by checking houses like ours on our estate on the VOA website - quite easy to spot ones like ours because it is a modern estate, plus they were built in 1991 so easy to work out the value at the relevant point in time because we know the people who bought it from new :D

Then I wrote one letter outlining my case, and got a letter by return saying they would look into it and get back to us within 2 months. Then today, the letter came saying we have been rebanded, and it applies back to April 1st 1993, so will cover all the time we have been here, and for the people who owned it before us too :D

No hassle, no phone calls, no arguing, no fighting, no stress, and no need to tidy up.........makes a change :rotfl:

:T:j:j:T Maybe I'll try bringing it up again... my Dad appears to have (independantly!) joined the MSE newsletter so there is some hope! He is even topcashbacking too since we managed to get a decent cashback on our netbooks!

We have a posh bra factory shop near me (Rigby & Peller, Freya, Fantasie for £5 upwards) :D, plus a handbag shop where I buy all my overnight bags (have a bit of a thing about them. Have one for swimming, one for Ryanair, one for other airlines, one for two night stays, one for three night stays.....:o) plus you get Jane Norman bags for £5 and lovely leather bags for £50  down to £5. DD pinches my favourites though

I think I'd be in heaven... Fantasie bras for £5  My last one cost me £28 (only 1 company that had the colour and size I needed - normally I can get them for less - late teens £ normally.). Sadly they are the only ones that fit me.

I'm in a 1 bed flat in a mediochre (sp?) area and I'm a C band. Silly Edinburgh prices even in 1993... Grrrr

Ooh well done hypno, I haven't dared check ours in case they reband us upwards! We're band D, but it's a 4-bed house now and most of the ones in our road are only 2 or 3 bed.

I was band E but am now band D, and we are 4 bedroom (although not a huge 4 bedroom), so I would guess that D is about right, seaxwyn.

This is the longest I have ever stuck with flylady - and I really really hope that it continues - I still have a looooong way to go, but it is so much better than it was a few weeks ago! I am reaching the point of being "untidy" rather than being "downright ashamed"..........success :rotfl:
