She has already got statistics GCSE, so maths and stats would be her preferred option.

I did pure and applied maths for A level - the pure bit was ok but I was never any good at physics, so the applied maths was tough for me. I did stats as a seperate subject.

Personally I would quite like her to do maths, but I am not going to push her one way or another - but her eyes lit up a bit when it was put to her this evening as she had never thought herself "that" good, and says she definitely wants to look into it, especially with stats already under her belt.

Wow, clever girl! My DDs had to choose their A level options this week and Maths of any kind was most definitely not on the list.

DD has to choose hers next month......we don't have a sixth form at our local school, so she has to visit lots of other schools in town to see what they have to offer, as well as the FE colleges........the mummy taxi is going to be busy going to all the open evenings that happen after half term

What have your DDs chosen, seaxwyn?

El, my dimples had made an appearance before I was her age.......she is the slimmest child ever, with legs that I would kill for :p (mind you, I never did as much sport as she does, so perhaps I was onto a loser from the word go!)

We have a 6th form college and a FE college, so only 2 places to choose from in the immediate vicinity. DD1 is doing English Literature, Philosophy, Art & Photography, and DD2 is doing Eng Lit, Philosophy, Graphic Design & French. I'm not sure they are the most useful combinations but they were dead set against doing most of the trad academic subjects.

TBH unless they have very specific career plans with subjects they 'must' study, all that really matters is getting decent grades.

I would have killed to do philosophy 'A' level (and even photography), but nowhere near me does anything like that. :(

Am in the middle of a MAJOR declutter of my room: am getting rid of all the paperwork I no longer need and I swear I must have cleared out the best part of a tree tonight! There's still a lot to go as well...

I really want to sell loads of stuff on Ebay as well to get rid of more clutter, but that blummin postal strike is getting in my way. Posties, you really pick your times. Please consult with me next tome you are planning strike action!

I won't know myself after this. I may even stretch to considering a clear out of the wardrobe and getting rid of a few books if this goes as well as I'm hoping.

    Chocks away! :T
