You're in the mid £22k's now! Poor DS - it takes it out of him, doesn't it.....

I'm trying to start well to the week, but not really succeeding - another cup of tea might be called for.

Hi Hypno, glad your weekend went well and the kids did well:T
I sympathise with the morning issue. If I didn't get myself up no one would actually go anywhere, with the exception of DS1 who I rarely have to wake the rest of the troops would be in the land of nod till whenever.;)

DS is still asleep  But I have managed to clean the kitchen and do the dining room. I even did the oven

I want to go and have a shower but that will wake DS up, so I will have to stay grotty for the time being :o Coffee is my only option, methinks!

In MSE news, it looks like OH will be having to take a drop in pay by a couple of thousand pounds a year - about £130 month take home  Just as I get given a rise, he gets the opposite. Could be worse I suppose.

Also, for the last 6 years there has been another job for him between November and January, that he has got a good number of shifts for - this year they have decided it is not viable to run, so that is another few hundred £££ that he will not be able to earn as before

It all makes me very glad that we are on top of the finances, as things could have been so much worse if we had got these pieces of news a couple of years ago, but it doesn't help in the bid to pay more than the minimums over the coming months

    Morning Hypno,
Well done to the mini Hypnos on the ski results..sorry to hear that DS has a migraine and hope he recovers soon.
Well done on another £15 on the £3600 challenge.I asked Seaxwyn yesterday if I could join in and she said yes.Is that ok if so I've paid £50 off so far...as I don't have a card that is £3600 they are all a lot higher or a lot lower I'm doing it across a couple if that's ok.
Well done on cleaning your kitchen and oven at this time of morning...you're doing great with the Fly lady.
Sorry to hear about the loss of money from DH.Can you imagine that happening a couple of years ago?..that would've been horrifying....so shows how far you have come...well done

That *is* bad financial news..... it'd have been a lot worse a few years ago, and yes, there's still people being made fully redundant, but still, not nice. Just because there's people worse off than you in terms of the debt journey doesn't mean things aren't still difficult for you. Lots of hugs.

OH's pay seems to be going down steadily year on year. He works hard, and lots of hours, yet earns less and less. It is down to him to find something better/more reliable etc but of course we all know that we can't tell our nearest and dearest what to do without causing greater stress! I am desperately trying to accept it as being something I can't control so therefore shouldn't get stressed about, but it is not so easy to do that!

But, yes, it would have been a disaster a couple of years ago. I just hope that it doesn't keep happening, otherwise he will end up doing loads of work but for nothing in return

I've been transferring Directdebits from one account to another - what a time consuming process for something that you would think is quite easy!

DS has stirred - I can here movement across the landing......I may get my shower and to visit Nana yet!!

He can be quite "head in the sand" over work things (along with all things finance related", so I quite think he will accept this latest arrangement, and although he says he will look for something else, his definition of "looking for another job" is a quick glance in the job section once a week in the paper, and hope that someone knocks on the door one day saying "hello, you must be Mr Hypno, I know you are looking for another job and I have the perfect job for you, no need to update your CV, no need to come for an interview, and by the way, we will double your existing salary"

It's such a shame about OH's pay and I really feel for you.I guess he needs to be thankful he's got work still as so many haven't and I guess that in these times it's hard to find anything to replace what he already has....but I wish him luck if that's what he chooses to do.
My heart goes out to you as you really really work hard at clearing your debts and for something like that tp happen must be heart breaking.
Sounds like those DDs are hard to do!!!...I was thinking of moving some of mine but don't think I'll bother.
To move them what do you have to do?...Do you cancel it online on one account and then phone the firm to set it up on another ....I'm a bit clueless so not quite sure how to do it.Hence why I haven't yet.

I've done mine over the phone, but I won't actually cancel the instructions with the "old" bank until I have either written confirmation of the change from whoever it is I am paying, or until I have seen the money come out of the "new" account as I worry that if I cancel it, they will not have done the change at their end, and as a result I will end up being late/in arrears/stressed! At least if I have their confirmation letter, and it then goes wrong, I have some evidence that it is their fault!

I just need to do the life assurance but have to dig out the paperwork for that one, so it may not get done today.

DS is off to school for the afternoon session, so I will shower, change, and go to visit nana.......and may dig out that paperwork when I get back....
