Hypno's "no more boom or bust" diary

Good morning Hypno & co - talking of accents, I watched Rab C Nesbitt the other day - now there's a challenge for you!One life - your life - live it!0
-
If you think Glaswegian is bad, try the NE Scottish accent - Peterhead in particular . I can tune in after a while but couldn't believe they say 'fish' as 'fasch'
Used to go to Ireland for work and once spent the week translating for a colleague - I can cope with most Irish accents as ex hubby's family had a thick west coast accent I finally got the hang of. She couldn't understand a word outside Dublin :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hypno - hope all's well. I think you should do a mid-diary update every 5 or 10 pages so I can keep up!

Not been around for a few days - came back for a catch up to find everyone cleaning - thoughts of an alien abduction and swapping MSEers and the real Hypno came to mind. Then I read this new Hypno had 'spent' money on clothes and had a day off work  - my hunch has to be true - what've the aliens done with Hypno
If it is the 'real' Hypno out there :T WELL DONE :T on treating yourself. Have a good time at Rossendale - can be a bit bleak around there in winter. Will you be dropping in at The Chill Factor (a 'real snow' artificial slope) in Manchester en-route - you'll need a mega cheque book if you are lol. DD treated DH to a taster there - silly money - I'm glad neither of them took to it.
Just a point on the language we use up North - 'a barmcake' is what you Southerners call a 'bap' - when dd went to uni in London she never lived it down and they took the mick out of her cos no one had heard of a barmcake- you don't arf talk funny down there

Don't forget that today is DOUBLE scratchcard. I've managed to get a whole £1
Cannot comment on fly-lady work since I'm not following it, but hope you're all managing to keep up with the cleaning. I live in a bedsit so little housework - bonuses in everything I say!0 -
It was cold and wet up north - everything I expected it to be :rotfl:
But, yesterday, the girls' under 19 team (of which DD is a member) won the English schools champs :j
The boys' under 16 team (including DS) came 2nd
Today was the "open" champs, and the boys didn't do so well, but the girls came third :T
Not bad for a village school in one of the flattest places in the UK!
So all in all, a good weekend. Very tiring, very cold and wet, and very expensive, despite all the MSE shortcuts, but worth it.
Am tired now, so won't be hanging about here this evening......catch up with you all tomorrow, and hope you have all had a good weekend too xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground.
