Obviously my talk of housework has scared you all away!!

show off lol! ours is semi sparkly so won't take too much effort from me to finish it off.
Our living room feels like it's the best it's been for months but now need to sort the bedroom.
Just frozen outside a couple of times today but it was worth it because i've just sold OH's scooter for him. hip hip horray! he's not made much effort but finally the newspaper ad has paid off.0 -
Glad you had a good nights sleep Hypno. With a long break from work I hope you can get a few more early nights in.
Just a thought, but would it be possible for your DS and DD to get themselves up for their paper rounds? As youngsters (aged 12 when we started our rounds) we soon learned not to ignore the alarm clock since that meant no pay and a risk of losing the only income we were able to get at that age. I think children need to be a minimum of 14 now... old enough to take responsibility perhaps? I really hope I haven't offended as clearly it's none of my business, but just wanted to put the idea out there.
Glad flylady works for you - I would be so put off by that list (and someone telling me what to do!) It is good though when things are clean and clear and in the right place.
I hope you get decent recompense from your student lodgers, though appreciate that these students are good friends too - will you make any money to throw at debts do you think?
Just to let you know that P0undl@nd are selling rolls of brown paper (10 metres by 50cm). I've just bought some and it's fairly decent stuff and certainly good enough to wrap parcels for mailing. Thought of you as I'm aware you and your daughter want to sort through the garage and might want to sell stuff online. There's also two rolls of parcel tape at £1 a pop too. Bubble wrap you can get from freecycle.... or the same shop as above - though sorry, I didn't check the amount your get for your money so not sure if it's a good deal.0 -
Cooo housework! We are getting on top of things (I actually cleaned the privy and the bathroom sink today! might need a cider to recover :rotfl:)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Well done on selling the scooter LT!!
hiphouse - no recompense for these student visits.....they don't generally take the mick, and are usually here to meet up with their old friends which means that they don't need feeding here much - just cereal/toast for breakfast and they are welcome to join us for any other meals if they happen to be in the house at the right time. I don't mind having them back - they are like big brothers and sisters to my kids, so it is like having (nice) family to come to visit. They usually treat us to a takeaway or a nice meal out when they are here too....
In return, we have had the ability to have cheapish stays in Norway......including the use of a ski apartment owned by one of the families - I can cope with returning students from time to time if that is the trade off
DS does get himself up in the mornings - he is very good, but his room is next to mine, and the walls are paper thin - so when his alarm goes off, I wake up too!! And once I am awake, that's it - might as well get up and put the kettle on!
Right, back to my flylady list......where did I put that duster :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Ack! -Yes - and I've only just gotten here!
Throw some of that energy down this way!
We've woken up, cancelled a 2.5hr drive to the in-laws, taken the glass to the recycling depot, had lunch and OH is so exhausted from the effort he's gone back to bed!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
(whispers - how's the egg saga - any luck sorting it?)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
**hunts for missing gin bottle**
I decided to ring egg tomorrow - there will likely only be a skeleton staff on today so I am much more likely to get someone who just says "oh, there are no supervisors in today, so I don't know the answer".......cynical? Me? Noooooo!
I have done everything on my flylady list - and made a start on some of the things for later in the week too, so am pleased with that...... I also had a charity bag put through the door for the NSPCC, and I have a spare bag already of theirs, so I will get both those filled and put outside for collection on Thursday - no excuse not to declutter a bit more.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hiya Hypno and gang.
Just a flying visit from lurkdom to let you know that Bingon has been validated on TCB, so looks like it's gonna payout if you want to have a go, not sure what the amounts are now tho.
Hope everyone has had a great xmas (and have dodged the lurgy that I just seem to have caught from the 2 ababies) and are looking forward to New Year!!
