hi hypno, sorry to hear your problems with egg, hope you used say no to 0870 for the phone number, but if not then you definately need them to refund you. I sometimes wonder if banks keep you on hold for so long, a/ to earn money, & b/ to wind you up so they can say 'i'm not paid to take you speaking to me like this' ie they don't want to speak to you at all.
Oh and someone wondered whether they record you on hold - yes they do. bet they get loads of laughs hearing people getting more and more angry - they're not nice folk always are they?
we had a bang here this morning - unfortunately the porch roof has fallen down! not surprising, but given that idiot upstairs was 'going to sort it this christmas' it was amazing he actually bothered to come around and see what had happened, and strangely enough is now going to look for quotes to get it sorted - duh wouldn't he have done that if he was already doing it over christmas? i knew it was never going to happen. Just hope the top layer of the roof doesn't cave in before he does sort it out. He seems to thing he's in charge and we will all do what he wants, the quotes and arrangements i made 6 months ago were just no good! sorry, once again the bloomin state of this outside of this place is getting to me..... we saw a potential house and were then told that if the outside of our flat matched the work we've done inside then it would be worth 20k more than it currently is with the outside how it is, so we're in negative equity now and will not be moving for a long time.

I am quite happy for egg to hear whatever I say, LT - after all, I don't employ a huge amount of tact when I am actually finally through to a live person.......they know EXACTLY how I feel :D My long list of "issues" with them just shows them how badly wrong they have got things over the years with me.......and sadly I don't think they will ever get it right as far as this particular customer is concerned.

Sorry to read that you have more house problems. I hope the repairs get done very soon x

Tapas sounds good - we had eat ups buffet style (few bits laid out on kitchen worktop really) and turkey soup as a help-yourself tea. Very easy but really quite delish.

Off to see dd tomoz - not relishing the journey if the freezing fog they have forecast shows its ugly head. Glad I won't be driving. They are keeping her in hosp till after Tues when consultant re-appears from his break. She mustn't be too bad or they'd get an emergency consultant out I think - even over CHristmas - I'm hanging onto that thought!!

WIll look foreward to the new diary for the New Year. Don't know how you managed the marathon either and those blisters...... OUCH

Have a safe journey, milann and hope dd is ok.

As I lay in my very expensive "executive stress relief bath oil" (present from colleague at work) with my latest Jo Malone candle burning (present from boss) I started to think about the goals for the next year.....

2010 is the year I am 40. It is the year I had planned on being in my dream home, enjoying life to the full, but instead it has been the focus of my debtbusting, in that I want to be debt free by 40, even if I am not in the dream house by then.

So, it has been a "big year" for me, for such a long time, I need to make sure I capitalise on the motivation, and not have it as a bit of a damp squib which passes me by and just leaves me another year older.......

This week is the last week of this awful decade. I am also lucky enough to be off work for the week. So, I can spend a bit of time blitzing the house, and making plans for the future so that I enter the new decade and my big year with the positive attitude that I always intended.

  • I feel quite similarly Hypno, life is a funny thing really. I will be 34 next year, Never entered my head I would be in this much debt and still at home etc.

I am feeling very positive about the new year tho,the debt will be gone by this time next year and work will improve if it kills me.

Enjoy the week off, I too shall be thinking and planning

    All the best

    xxxx

I'm absolutely positive that you'll be debt free this year as that is what you've worked towards so hard these last few years and you're on the home straight now.

buffy, 2010 will be a good year - I know it!

we are watching season 1 of outnumbered right now (DS got the box set for Christmas) .......while we wait for the Christmas special to come on.

I am rather tired, though, so might end up going to bed, and leaving the kids to watch it downstairs.......boy am I old :o

There is no reason, other than unexpected unemployment etc, why we shouldn't be debt free - we have paid off 20k a year for the last few years, so should be able to do it again.

Seems so odd to think that we will just owe the mortgage and nothing else - it has been a long long long time since that has been the case!!
