You know something? This thread has single-handedly ensured that I will never, ever have anything to do with Egg. Take comfort in the fact that you are making potential customers run a mile from them, Hypno...x

  • don't know if you all watched the christmas Royale family entitled the 'golden egg cup'....i think we should have a virutal golden EGG cup and award it to the financial institution that pi**es us off the most in 2010. Egg arent doing themselves any favours on this thread, look how many people will not be opening egg accounts, i used to have one when it first came out but closed it when i realised telephone banking was a pain....glad i did now...

When you speak to Egg tomorrow Hypno and they sort out their obvious muck up mention (firmly!) that you want compensating for the phone money, and your time and for the stress and aggravation caused! (I reckon a couple of hundred should do the trick :D)

Like others I am now staying as far as possible away from Egg!

I have it on Sky+ and haven't yet watched it, but surely Egg are already stuffed as their name is already on the Cup?! ;)

So.....yes, DT, life is "normal"......how bored would I be if it wasn't

The buses ran on time, and we were able to get to Mum's have roast beef and get the bus home without any problems. We won't be able to get to MiLs though for dinner - OH will go over on his bike, but we can't risk the car and there are no buses etc running in that direction at anything like the right time.....

So, the kids and I are going to have Tapas for tea......basically it is exactly the same nibbly bits and leftovers that we had yesterday, but accompanied by some olives and some dipping oil for the bread :D Ever inventive!!

And of course, because I do not have to drive anywhere, I can finally have a drink, which I have been looking forward to all day :o

Hope you have had a good day x

We tried egg years ago when they were fairly new, and left fairly quickly.

You should listen to my OH when he's on hold to call centre's, it's definitely entertaining, we're normally doubled up laughing as the fuming escalates. I do wonder if they record what's said before you get through!!!!

Hope tomorrow morning isn't too bad Hypno.

I think I was typing while you posted, glad to hear you've had a good day despite the car problems.

Enjoy your drink tonight, you deserve it especially after this morning.

Tapas sounds nice, I've never been to Spain, and only had one lot of tapas thanks to a newspaper half price voucher offer (spotted in the newspaper specials bit of mse), it was really nice, well worth buying the paper :).

We're using up the freezer and fridge still prior to flying out Thursday, so tonight it's using up the lamb mince to make an egyptian style kofta (friends recipe) oven baked with mediteranean vege's. Fortunately only overstocked slightly on the fresh vege's so will leave the landlord what's left in the fridge (she's a friend too now & vege), I hate wasting good food.

Have a good relaxing evening :)

ooh, lamb kofte sounds delish - that is my sort of food. I hope all goes well with the move at the end of the week....you sound quite organised.

    'Sound' is very appropriate :D

Well we did just double check that the trains are running new years eve at the other end, but moving out of rented into store always has an element of last minute panic.

Can't wait to find a new house to buy, but the agents just send us the same ones over & over again. With OH's redundancy without too long a gap to new job, the budget has increased so hopefully we'll find somewhere when we get back. Up until now everything that looked nice on details had a sewage works, airstrip, railway line, minimum A road or other blatant things to rule them out. But presumably they were priced accordingly, so maybe?
