Got you there Beanielou, ours are over 100 years old!
We love sash windows but the house is not worth the expense of having them reconditioned - plus every other house on the street has uPVC.
My concern is our cellar which has had a piece of wood boarding up the window for the past 4 years
I'm mortified0 -

Mind you, I was watching "how clean is your house" this afternoon - it soon got me up and armed with a cloth :rotfl:
I know. When I get around to deep cleaning , I find myself saying out loud, 'Aggie and Kim would have a heart attack if they could see this.'
P.S - Just got my Kim and Aggie, "How clean is Your House" book off the shelf, "hundreds of handy tips to make your home sparkle", never read it before, might start now, then again might not. It's in perfect condition, I think i'll put it on Amazon instead and have a glass of wine.:D.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. Comments in Red.....Hi Essex. Thanks for the info, but I'm not 100% on this so can I run my situation through with you? Course you can! That's a nod, isn't it? Oh it isn't? *nods!*Oh well, I'll just tell you anyway...;)
right, I used my CC unawares that it counted as a cahs advance for my £5 BB deposit. I won £20 and withdrew it within the same 24hr period. The only thing is I have no chance of clearing the card immediately. Do you reckon it will get shuffled to the back of the pack as a cash advance payment until the end of time? If I bleat at my CC company if they do this, might that help? It might, I'm guessing it depends purely on the credit card company and the person you get on the phone....they will quote their T's & C's at you - I would suggest just playing the helpless girly if it's a youngish sounding chap on the phone and going for the "I feel such a fool" approach for anyone else..... You have nothing to lose by trying.
What's all the more annoying is that I could have easily used my debit card, but I just used ny CC for safety as it was the first time I've used this account and prefer not to give my bank acount details to sites until I am sure about them.Piffle and tish! I know what you mean....I feel similarly but figured with BB that they seemed fairly well established now and that if there had been any problems we'd have heard about it by now.
Thanks Essex!No problem!
I did something similar with my Cap One card when I first got it. The statement arrived and there was an interest charge showing and a fee charged so rang up and questioned it - kicked myself when the chap said what the problem was but managed to keep my cool enough to say I wanted to complain about the fact that it hadn't been made clear enough and that it wasn't a natural assumption to make....he caved in to refunding the fee after I threatened to close the account due to "their lack of transparency" but I had to pay the interest and count it as a lesson learnt. Thankfully I was clearing the card so the rest of it didn't become a problem. I wish you luck sorting it out - or even better, that your card may be one that doesn't charge in this way for gambling transactions.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi guys!
Thought I'd add some inane banter here just to add my two cents into the mix. Anyone who reads the Sunday Times ( I don't usually but there was something about Lady Gaga and I find her like a car crash, completely nothing yet fascinating to stare at) and in the News review section it said that a certain farming application on the book of Faces now had 69 million users! That's bigger than the entire Twitter user network and more than the population of the UK!!!
And here's me struggling with 20 neighbours! :rotfl:
I like the Times for some reason, they seem to have left-winged themselves all of a sudden as I certainly don't feel like I've lurched to the right! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0 -

No farms here either... but then I only go on facebook a couple of times a month...
I know what you mean about not having as much as you'd hoped home wise this year... Me neither! However I have made (small!) steps in the right direction... which is an achievement in itself! :T I think Kim and aggie wouldn't be pleased but they'd have had a heart attack if they'd seen my place last year!
 :rotfl:
Then again I spent half of today trying to make my 1st ever (proper) Xmas cake (now in the oven for the next millenium ) and my kitchen is now a bombsite... I just went to get a mince pie and found a bit of glace cherry stuck to one of my cupboards!:rotfl:
