My dishwasher went phttt a couple of years back and I immediately ordered a new one - there are some things that are just NEEDED! I also wouldn't be without my tumble drier - I know all about the leccy bill etc, but real life means that if I didn't have a tumble drier, I would just have a whole load of wet clothes in piles.....It is one of my pet hates, having wet washing around the house......I think it goes back to my childhood where washing was over banisters, chair backs etc. If I hang it outside, it is wet again before I get home from work, or I forget to bring it in until the morning when it is cobwebby and a bird has crapped on it.

So, tumble drier and dishwasher - my musthaves.....:o

When the weather is as bad as Englands..well you just have to do some things...although i think my house does look like Wishy Washys sometimes..dirty booggers they are-always wanting clothes washing and stuff. In my day we just turned our pinnie inside out and sat nekkid while mum did the washing on Mondays.:rotfl:

  • Completely agree re Dishwasher and Tumble Drier. Ours broke and OH was really grumpy about getting another but I am not wasting my valuable spare time washing pots! I was told it was also more economical as used less water (and we are on a water meter), although not sure how true that is.

I feel v v sure Mrs Hypno that you will pay it off before you are 40 :)

Oh I do hope so!! I can't see a great deal happening for the next few weeks to bring the debt down, other than minimum payments, but once skiing is done, that money is mine for debtbusting, and hopefully the motivation will be there for me to ebay, carboot and the like in order to get rid of it.

It is miles more economical to use wash pots by hand and line dry - like hypno I believe dishwashers, washing machines, driers etc are essential... I still do put some things on hangers to dry, airers and back of chairs but they tend to be the "tight" fit stuff that I daren't risk in the dryer LOL
