You bought your first house as you were doing your A levels?

    £5k?

And I thought I had problems :rotfl:

Say hi to Pania for me!

Have to say, I loved interrailing - I kept at it even when I was at work. And I have a piece of the Berlin wall too, my partner's wife lived in Berlin for years and nabbed some.

Yup, a one bedroom "starter home" - not much room to move about, but it got me on the ladder.......

Banking done, and £11.10 bingo money has reached my account, so that has been transferred into the ski pot. Other than that, nothing to report so far.

    hi hypno,

Congratulations on both mini H's being selected. but ouch to the £5kto find so quickly. As most people would have to find only £1k so quickly (I'm presuming that most will have 1 child going only to Norway) is there a chance to explain that you have to find 5x that and therefore are asking for extra time??

Or perhaps a local retaier would like to sponsor one or both of them. they get lots of good publicity and piccies of ds and dd in ski kit and you get some help with fares/fees?

I know you know all the possibilities for grants etc. Perhaps the school would help, not with money but by allowing them to raise money on school premises by holding cake sales, boot sales, car wash day, and anything else anyone can think of

  • Hypno - you'll be pleased to know that I've finally succumbed to Bingo Britain! Is there any particular game I should be playing or just anything I fancy? Can I set up account in OH's name as well? I have contributed somewhat towards a challenge by just signing up me thinks.....

Verbatim, thanks for the ideas - we explore most avenues! I do have £1400 from the council tax refund, so that is a good chunk of it. As for the cost - well, most families will be comitted to other ski training/racing throughout the season too, so the overall figure is not much different for many of those attending.

    We'll get there......we usually do!

IMD, just pick games that take your fancy - I don't think there is any one that is better than others! Good luck, and yes, you can sign OH up too, but you might want to let your account run for a week or two first in case they think you are trying to abuse the system........their T&C clearly say that it is one per person and if you try and set up multiple accounts, they will stop the bonus......although OH is another person, if you are using the same computer or address etc, they could consider that as being "one and the same".....so just be aware!

    glglgl :D

If your cash balance is 8, then deposit £20 to take your cash balance up to £28, then withdraw £28.

If you are on BB, that should leave the £7 bonus, which you can then continue playing with.
