My local store has taken them and my wife has had her bill discounted by £5 a week on average for a few weeks. Being relatively low paid it has helped enormously.

Martin should be a little more savvy when making comments on TV,

Wow the baseball bat comment was a little harsh! It seems the voucher vultures are out to give Martin a right pecking.

I started using the site after getting hooked on the freebies so naturally continued learning from there, adopting the other thrifty techniques explored under other sections of the forum board.

I've enjoyed having 50%-90% off my small shops for over a year and a half.

It's a shame that it's gone now but not the end of my world. I remember in his channel 5 show that he mentioned supermarket coupons but not in the context of not buying the item. Oh and didn't The Sun and Mail feature stories on MOC use?

I'm a yellow sticker chef so will have to keep my eyes peeled for more oops prices on soon to ferment food.
  • hi all...:j
i first came on here to use the tesco health and beauty thread which was brilliant. that finished and now use the coupon thread . but unfortunately i think we have people who think they can print hundereds of pounds off and stand outside the store selling them to blame for the stoppage as well. also people who brought them off them . there was a lady standing outside mine and she tried to sell them to a amember of staff . not a good idea

My local Tesco is still taking coupons today and I think I'm lucky that they did. Which is what I always thought anyway! It's a bonus if they do take them but it's not the end of the world if they don't.
  • I cannot believe how some people have turned on Martin - talk about showing their true colours. I really must try not to get cynical when reading their comments. I guess there are always people who are happy to put the boot in - or even as someone said, using a baseball bat - how lucky are some people to have this as the major problem in their life. Just ignore them Martin and keep up your excellent work. I have learned so much and enjoyed so much - you are our champion. Thank you for all your good advice.

I went to my local Tesco in Ilkeston today and there were signs on every till saying they wouldn't be taking any more coupons, I bought a Hovis loaf and handed two 20p coupons over, only to be told they now only take one even if you buy the product, I said thank you and I will be doing my shoping elsewhere in future, didn't go down to well by the looks on their faces.
I think we should all boycott them and watch their profits go down.
Thank you to anyone anywhere who has abused the system for us all!

In the good old days when tesco did R&R exactly the same thing happened, people got greedy and took the p!ss. Spoilt it for everyone else  Once again greed get the better of others.

  • HUNDREDS of shoppers used DOG FOOD vouchers to get money off booze, clothes and TVs in a blunder that cost Tesco tens of thousands of pounds.

The makers of Pedigree Chum had offered coupons on the internet worth up to £6.89 each.
But customers at three stores found they could use them over and over again - on ANY items.
Word spread fast and hundreds hit the shops in West Bromwich, Willenhall and Dudley, West Midlands, on Thursday.
Claire Hampson, 40, said: "I heard it from my neighbour and printed off a few vouchers. The stores were rammed with people buying booze, bed linen, TVs, you name it.
"People were laughing and joking. We thought it was a genuine offer."
    Tesco has launched an inquiry.

  • This is the soon to be infamous clip:

I agree...my heart sank and cringed at the same time when Lorraine Kelly asked about people using them sometimes when not buying the item...
