Kirkcaldys Tesco and Castorphine in Edinburgh tesco does not take coupons now it is confirmed unless you by the item so thanks to all the coupon abusers who have mucked it up for everyone else.
Tesco will realise that they will start loosing money soon and they should bring in like a maximum of say 5/10 coupons or a max of £10 off.I will stop shopping at Tescos now and start going to Aldi and Lidls.
The savings were good while it lasted.
Thanks again to the Coupon Abusers hope your next no2 is a hedge hog.:T

I must admit that I do not fully follow what is going on. I see people either criticising or praising Martin but I dont know exactly what its about.
Am I being simplistic but the way I see it if a manufacturer says if you buy my product I will give you 50p off and you buy that product you get 50p off then if you buy tht product you get your 50p. The problem should only occur if the shop gives you money off for a voucher where you have not bought that product. So all Tesco need to do is to say you have to buy that product to get your money off coupon validated. So where is the problem?
I have tried looking up what Martin is supposed to have said that has caused all these problems but I cannot find anything. So is the problem that Marting has publicised something that is actually known by only the select? people seem to be split into two camps and I have read some insulting others because of their stance. It should be obvious that as something grows it changes its form. So an offer may only be afforded if only a few take it up. It should be obvious that the more people using vouchers will make the various parties revise their thoughts. So do we only allow a select few to know of these practises?
We could say that Martin was wrong in having certain sites such as mobile phones. Cashbacks used to be marvellous for us until they became more known and therefore not affordable by the sellers. In my mind we need to see the bigger picture and overall I think we gain by the work of Martin and others. Swings and roundabouts. I would say that more people know of their rights because of Martin and that should be a good thing.0 -
as this is not a discount code , more of a "Vent"
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. cant believe it !! I am in a state of shock0

Surely if Martin had never set this site up, we wouldn't be able to share and discuss these offers in the first place? He's doing a great job and doesn't deserve this abuse in my opinion.0

From what I have read, a very systematic and organised gang were practically raiding certain stores each evening, over the past couple of months. 'Raiding' - as in they were all filling a trolley and then all going to separate tills with wegdes of printed internet coupons (ones like Pedigree where there is no restriction built in - so called 'Smart Coupons' LOL!!). They chose evening staff who didn't realise the implications, and as the coupons scanned the stores naively didn't realise until they had been 'hit'.
These people were reported on this board, as having been seen putting their ill-gotten gains in their cars then going back in several times over to repeat the process. It was said a few weeks ago that some stores took more in coupons than in other payment methods when hit like this - and of course they can't redeem them all.
I believe Martin's timing when he went on GMTV was just unlucky, he didn't cause the huge abuse as it is a fact that it was already reported as going on from around August. The regulars on this board know that this is the case.
RIP coupon policy at Tesco (I understand it has been stopped for a trial period to assess if it is cost-effective). I will shop elsewhere now, we need to vote with our feet if Tesco are to realise this trial is costing them money.
Blaming anyone except the scammers is of no help IMHO. Shame they can't be arrested for their 'raids'.
I did not see Martins GMTV appearance, and know nothing of these scammers, but just a couple of observations.
All my local stores ( Tesco, asda etc) have NEVER accepted any printed coupons of any description EVER (at least while I have been couponing).
Their explanation was that they don't accept photocopies.
I pointed out they were not copies, but from the internet - some even had my name on as had been emailed to me by Felix etc....
But they still would not accept them.....at 6am, 4pm or mid-night.
From other posters I gather my stores were not the only ones.
So if in some areas there were these Scammers, I do not see how difficult it would have been for Tesco to stop them dead in their tracks.
Or do you imply that the sa and other staff in these scammed stores are less intelligent than those in the rest of the country ?
Seems very co-incidental that so soon after Martins TV appearance Tesco pull their policy....or am I missing something here
As I say, I never saw the GMTV thing, and I have saved a fortune thanks to this site, so Martin will always be one of the good guys afaic, but no on is ever perfect.
In my post this morning had a coupon off Comfort Vapouresse...talk about rubbing salt in my poor wounds:cool:
Only hope is that if everyone who did use coupons (legitimately) now vote with their feet, maybe Tesco will have to refine their No Coupon policy to just exclude printed/copied ones....we can but hope......but not much help in the short term:o0 -
I've heard that it's not all Tesco's that have banned coupons - is this true?0

I went to my local Tesco's last night and was told I could use NO coupons . I was shocked...having 'bought' somemore in my lunchtime, not what I needed to here.
My local had a policy where they only took a maximum of 10 coupons, which worked well...not so good if you only had 20p coupons, but you knew where you stood.
Hopefully this will be short lived as I like most others will now have to shop around more for the best deal....I just wish I had more time.Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52

hi to all of you
can anyone give me a link to were i can see the gmtv show when martin was on there0 -
It was very unfair from Martin to appear on GMTV and say that as there's nothing illegal or abusive in coupons.
The coupons are an incentive to the buyer and this is "systematic Marketting" aiming to get the buyer to spend more money.
Most companies are trying to get you to buy products either via sampling, coupons,
special offers, BOGOF offers, competitions and holidays.
Tesco's never lost any money as the coupons were value exchagable + 1p or 2p handling charge.
The companies have got their money as they are part of their marketting/ promotion campaigns and are claiming the tax from inland revenue in their balance sheet.
So all this about people abusing the system is total nonsense.
I will be shopping around and not obliged to shop from TESCO just to save £3-£4 when spend £10.
I will still be saving money as Tesco is not cheap at all!
It's just goodbye TESCO, and on tho ALDI,LIDL, NETTO and anywhere else cheaper than TESCO.0
