Single and in Debt Part 3- The problem of surplus and excess women

Sarah I feel the same about Boots. You go in for some razors and com out £40 lighter! I've started using Savers a lot as it's so much cheaper. Bro gave me a £30 Boots voucher for my b'day so I've stocked up a bit with £10 of it and I'm keeping the rest for their January sale. It's amazing, all those gift sets go for about a third of the price and it's a treat in an otherwise bleak month.'The road to a friends house is never long'0

I end up using all my points in the sale buying things for my house (which I don't even have yet:o.) I think I will try to save them and wait until I actually have a house and then I can use the points for something useful. The gift sets are always very tempting so I think I will have to keep away from the sales this year.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hello,
Yargo - so sorry to hear about your friend, that's so sad, but I'm sure your last visit gave him a lot of pleasure & you should focus on that & also what your mum says. Hugs to you sweetie.
Sarah,
Glad you're fully recovered now & yay to another declutter. I'm glad that you've chucked out a load of makeup stuff & very impressed to hear you say that you recognise that not all freebies are useful. I very nearly bought a load of Body Shop stuff the other day because I read about a fab offer on the grabbit board. Yes, it was a great bargain however, when I thought it through the only person I would have bought it for was the one person who already had every item included in the deal ... not such a good present then
I've been very busy this week end, mainly whizzing about ferrying things & DD1.
Just off to update siggy & diary then will be back ...0 -

I am beginning to realise that the only way to be frugal is to not spend any money unless it is absolutely necessary and a freebie is no good unless I will actually use it.I am surrounded by rubbish, expensive "freebies.":o I only like a couple of brands anyway so I have no idea why I was buying so much rubbish.
It will be a huge weight off my mind when it is gone, it was starting to suffocate me.

Morning all.. Well first thanks to you all for ur nice comments, i do feel a lot better this am and feel good that like you say , i last saw him when he knew i was there, and that he knows i was visiting him regularly.
ive decided that i will visit his wife (who i only know through him) every now and again now still, dont want to abandon her now, as we've all been seeing her n brian pretty regularly this year.
Have no holiday left from work so am hoping they let me have the funeral as compassionate leave... I have no grandads left so cant see why i couldnt have the day off to go to his .. and ive used holiday in the year to go visit him..what you think?
Anyhow better get ready for work, only the one job to do today but going to the gym later for a class, new lodger (who moved in last week) is hopefully bringing her own laptop this week so i will try to get on here later this evening...Or if not in the am.

I wonder if Shoegal's fun loving nature has actually been stifling our inner geeks?
No I have no interest in brooms or leadership....:rotfl:
God its Monday again....
Yargo, I lost my grandma and an old next door neighbour this year (another two reasons why this year has been so pants as well as the relationship breakdown).
They should let you take the time off even if its unpaid, I had one death in Jan and the other in March so I used my holiday, even for my Grandma's which narked me a bit actually as she was family, the neighbour I understand but still ....:rolleyes:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0
