Ah lovely Eco, have a great bday XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Butterfiles,
dont try to feel anything other than what you do at any given moment. What eco says is very true, I lost my mum nearly 4 years ago & at first concentrate don looking after everyone else so never gave myself time to grieve or come to terms with the loss. I finally cracked about 8 months later & end up in a right state.
Take each day as it comes, you have to get through so many 'landmarks' in the first year or so after losing someone & it really does take time.
I had a few session with a counsellor & although it was nearly 2 years after losing my mum ( long waiting list) the time lapse actually helped as I was already on the way to becoming another person. That's another thing you have to get used to.
There are so many changes to get used to, the shift in family relationships can be quite a shocker too.
My advice is to try to keep healthy in both body & mind by doing what's good for you; eating, sleeping, resting, exercising & just take it one day at a time.
Hugs to you

Commiserations to those of you feeling down atm, it always gets better eventually, remember that!
I'm actually doing much better for a change, going to the gym 3-4 times a week now which has given me a reason to get out of bed and made me feel much better about myself. I'm down to under 17st for the first time in 2-3yrs and I've bought a new pair of jeans in a 36" waist!!
The brewery is moving forward too, I'm now a director and 2nd largest shareholder and a couple of days ago I sent off our investment document to several potential investors, hopefully we'll hear back from them in a week or two and get some cash in the bank!
Unfortunately I'm also trying to move house and have run into a series of brick walls. Firstly 90% of landlords/letting agencies won't touch sharers (friends) renting a place. Even though we're both graduate professionals we're severely limited to a few properties, namely more expensive ones! Also my part time work has been poor this week, not many customers means I've barely earnt £60. Am trying to earn next months rent while paying for a trip to birmingham next weekThe size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha
I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0 -
Hey TDQ,
good to hear the brewery is gaining momentum & well done on the exercise. It really does lift the spirits doesnt it - I am feeling much more postive & 'capable' since I started exercising reguarly. Cant seem to shift any weight, but I can now get into last years work trousers which I couldnt before christmas. Dont feel any thinner, just more healthy & happy0 -
hey all, thought I'd check in again. Been a long time since I said hello. Bored at work today so have plenty of spare time on my hands.
Still single, kind of, met a 38yr old (oooh a cougar haha) a few weeks back, haven't quite managed to get a date sorted out yet. Lives quite far away so bit of a mission.
Still dieting and have lost 10lbs so far, still in debt but very much dealing with it at the moment too !!
How is everyone else ??0 -

Hey Mat, well done on everything. Let us know how the date goes!
I'm really feeling the valentines pinch this year, aargh fed up with seeing all the valentines tat in the shops and reading all the loved up statuses in facebook!!
I'm not even really a fan, I am, genuinely, one of thoes people who thinks that it is mostly really just an excuse for companies to make lots of money selling heart shaped rubbish and for people with no imagination to get brownie points by getting some flowers on the same day as everyone else!!
Still this year it is just really bugging me!
aaargh.....roll on Friday which is payday! :jI've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Make up, you know really that tis all !!!!!!!!! I cooked a lovely Nigella inspired meal for one of my darling single gay friends and it was such fun.
All the Valentines stuff doesn't bother me. It's not meant for me and that's okay, neithers birdwatching or camping. Each to their own! I was out with a friend on Valentines day last year and one couple next to us started fighting and in another couple the woman was so !!!!ed she fell asleep!!! I did say to my friend at the time 'Sorry but I'm supposed to want this?!'. Obviously some relationships are great but there's ALWAYS things you don't like or can't agree on and so for me I'd rather not bother than have to put up with all that. I forgot all about Valentine's this year until I saw this and it made me laugh http://cuteoverload.com/2011/02/14/hold-that-pose/
Last year I had a party the night before and it was great, had meant to do it again but booked something else the same weekend and couldn't face both.
No news here unless you count the fact that I am soooo grouchy today it's unbelievable. Was supposed to be having a week off, so have managed a decent amount of sleep for once - but between catching up on chores, going to work after all and college carp I will get a day and a half actual relaxation if I'm lucky. Not impressed. Dunno why it took so long - perhaps I am just too tired to be angry the rest of the time!

Yeah, you're totally right. I think I was just having a 'feel sad for yourself for no reason day!!!'
I worked as a waitress for a few valentines and at no point did I ever wish I was one of our customers rather than being one of the staff. I used to love all the loveheart sweets though that we gave out with the bill. We used to stand at the counter and stuff our faces until our tongues went numb....:D
Am back to normal now and I do love my life and I have sooo much to be thankful for and I have far too much else to worry about (I work for a local authority and our initial proposals re: cuts have been announced )
My friend asked if I was free in a couple of weeks and I wrote this long and sensible email about how I was limiting my nights out as I had no money. He then replied that it was the opening night of a new All Bar One and there is going to be free food and drink........ I feel I was rewarded for my sensibleness....I've got my own flat :j:j
