Single and in Debt Part 3- The problem of surplus and excess women

Morning all
I'd love to live on a boat, we've seriously considered building the brewery on a barge but the insurance companies say no!
My trial shift at a local restaurant has turned into a 5 nights a week jobI only work 3-4hrs a night and if it's not busy they will send me home but the tips are good and I can work a daytime job too as I don't start until 7pm.
The brewery is going slowly... still waiting for to be legally made a company director and have a bunch of the shares signed over to me. I've been slogging away at the financial projections and business plan to send to a bunch of potential investors. Hard work
On the DFW front I've sold a bunch of my ex cadet gear for £70, hopefully can double that with a bit of salesmanship. Have also been cooking loads of incredibly cheap but tasty meals in the slow cooker.

OOh TDQ, what have you been doing in your SC? I got a big one for Xmas and Lula has just got one and needs all our help to get DF very soon!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

I've done some amazing sausage casseroles and chicken soups... will post the recipes here later. They cost me about 30p per portion and I get about 10 good portions from each recipe.

:eek::eek: Ok totally understand now. Very wise decision. Wouldn't want the experience to put you off a boat for life!!
I do plan to look at boats but keep thinking I'll get side tracked if I start now and will want one straight away, keep telling myself clutter first just to make sure I do get rid of it, I'm bone idle at the boring stuff most times.0 -
Ok here are the two recipes:
sausages (i can use quorn)
1 tin tomatoes
400ml gravy (i could use bovril to make free?)
mushrooms
peppers
onion
mustard seeds
coriander
2 red chillis
Fry mustard seeds, chillis and onions. Add mushrooms, sausages, peppers and cook for a few minutes. Add tinned tomatoes + gravy. Simmer for 20mins or so, add coriander near end of cooking time.
Personally I left out the chilli as I don't like spicy food. I also used tesco's cheapo sausages, 8 for £1. I doubled all of the above amounts and bunged it in the slow cooker, was bloody lovelyI also added some potato and carrot. Total cost of ingredients was about £4 and it made 10 servings.
half pack of Tesco value cooking bacon
leek
4 carrots
swede
2 onions
2 parsnips
4 handfuls red lentils
mixed herbs
chicken stock cube
Chop bacon, put in water and boil on hob for about 10 mins.
Spoon off the white fatty stuff then transfer meat and water to SC
add all chopped veg, lentils, 2 tbsp mixed herbs and 2 cheapy chick stock cubes, put SC on low for about 10 hours.... lush!
Again double everything, bung it in the SC. Cost was about £3 and again it makes enough for about 10 servings.
The final meal I made was chicken soup. I roasted 4-5 chicken pieces from Iceland (£3 for a huuuuge bag of 15-20) for an hour then picked the meat off before boiling up the bones with bay leave and other herbs. Then seperated out the bones before bunging the meat back in plus potatoes, carrots, lentils, split peas, herbs and anything else I found lying around, it's different every time! Total cost is about £2 and again makes about 10 portions. The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Not that I'm managing it yet, am just pleased when I manage to feed myself 3 meals with the job and MSc, but will be trying it out once I'm sane again!
