    Ok........do you get hungry?

I panic eat, cos I am worried being hungry will trigger a migraine.

    xxx

I was quite hungry the first few days but that didn't last long. You are allowed snacks so the migraine shouldn't be an issue

  • Hi all, feeling a little down today, checked my account balance and the stupid leisure centre have cashed my cheque late and they have had it two weeks and now I have gone £16 over my overdraft. £5 charges a day till the 15th now! I was getting on top of things but everything has gone to pot now. £9 in my other account and £90 left on my credit card.

I just can't get on top of the debt, my wage does not help either. all my bills are paid but I try to stretch it out but it never works.
My friend has sold my car stereo for £25 but its not being fitted till the 29th so no money till then.

I have tried to sell books but no luck at all, and tried balance transfers for my tesco cc but all said no.

Only debt is mortgage which is always paid and no missing bills apart from tesco saying i had late payments which I didnt it was the minimum payment kept changing every five mins on the statements so have changed that from standing order to direct debit now.

Off to have a bath to try and stop fretting and crying. really dont want to use the cc but will have to for petrol and for food to buy and to see my daughter at the weekend who lives 50 miles away.

My bf has been talking about getting a job in australia and has applied for some already and is going to ask his daughter to join him. he talked to me last night about the fact there is no future in the uk and how people will have to work longer and harder to survive and it made me feel depressed a bit. I had bad dreams last night and today feel even worse and scared.:(

    Oh dear!

Don't worry too much about the Oz thing. It might not happen with their strict laws and if it does it could take ages. XXX

Yeh Asutralia is far from the utopia people think! It needs years of planning not just a rash decision to make a go of life in Oz.

As for you ladies who are planning diets I'm going to suggest walking again. I know a few of you gave it a go last time I mentioned it. 45mins a day normal pace walking and you'll lose weight easily. I've been walking home from uni for the last 2wks and people have already told me I look like I've lost weight and look healthier. I still get the bus up here in the morning but the 50min walk home in the eve makes a helluva difference.

    Grrrrrrrrr:mad::mad::mad:

The NM is driving me mad:mad::mad::mad:

Can anyone here who lives by themselves give me a figure for average bills each month eg gas/electic/council tax?

Am looking at one room flats and the rent is okay but I need to know what other expenses I will be looking at. Looks like all that ebaying might pay off as I will have enough for a deposit and less things to take with me.:) It's all a bit in the air at the moment and I probably won't do it until everything is paid off but I just need some figures so I know what I will be getting into. I will sit in the dark and wear warm clothes to save money on bills if I need to, I just need to get out of here!

Hey Sarah, I've been trying to work out the same thing for myself ready for my flat.

If you go onto the utilities info thing on this website and click onto the comparison websites, they allow you to put in information about the property and then you get quotes from the providers. You put in things like how many rooms and how hot you like to keep it and that kind of thing.

There is also the same thing you can do for water.

I'm pretty sure for electric came up, for me electric came up at £200 for the year and water £152. This was for using elec for cooking but not heating or hot water.

I didn't do it for gas but there was that option.

For council tax, work it out from what you are currently in to get a rough idea, so for example if your current place is a 3 bed house and is a band D then a one bed flat in same area is going to be a B or C. And don't forget to include your 25% single person occupant discount. I think in my area for my flat, I'm looking at around £75 per month.

This is definitely a question worth asking though when viewing anything, friends of mine recently rented a really lovely flat near the Thames - a two bed flat but a good size and it was in the highest council tax band so are paying an absolute fortune!!!

Hope this helps and good luck in your quest - that NM has a lot to answer for :mad:
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Hey ladies, my electric is £48 a month (this was too high last year so I got £70 back a few times) no gas, £100 a month council tax. I've got Plusnet for my phone and broadband at £19 a month and that's me! X

Thanks all, that's brilliant:A. Thanks for the comparison thingy make up, will have a look later. I totally forgot about tv licence, water and insurance:o, it all adds up.

I have decided that this is the way to go as I really can't stand living here much longer but I don't want to move out until I have got rid of everything I don't really need and cleared my Barclaycard. I can get a part furnished flat for not much more than the rent I am paying and as we have just received enormous gas and electricity bills I would rather be somewhere that is cheaper to heat and where I can control when the heating is on/dryer is used:mad:.

There are lots of little things I need to factor in though so I am going to keep my nose to the grinstone, clear the cc, build up my savings and get out of here.:j
