Yay!! Hollyberry's here :j:D:j Glad to see you back!
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Eco re that remark I think the opposite ie it's really healthy to have bought or rented on your own as then you know you don't NEED to live with someone for financial reasons so someone would have to have more to offer than money for you to offer them the chance to move in.
Also that only stands up if you want someone to take care of you and offer you what couples call 'security'. In 2010 I think you make your own!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Just ignore me, just been watching the debates and think I'm the local politician!!! I'd be grand in politics...but all the pc stuff would rip my knitting!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

makeup glad you've sorted the mortgage 2 months will fly by, I love been in my own house, when I bought my ex out one of the drivers at work said he thought it would be harder for me to find a boyfriend as he thought most lads would be put off cos they couldn't offer me anything, I thought he had a point but now a days I think i prefer the house my way, maybe i'm getting a bit selfish, i'll stop waffling and go get a drink.
Have a good weekend everyone.
That is the most rubbish reason I've heard to keep renting. So basically you shouldn't buy so that some arrogant man can 'save' you from yourself and make sure you are securely housed :rotfl::rotfl:
And quite frankly if all some bloke had to offer was that he had a mortgage I'd be out the door sharpish!!!!
Hollyberry is back :j:j:j
Fab to see you around again, sorry to hear you have been suffering tho!
Lula - is a bit weird but not really that excited. It just doesn't seem real. My brain can't get to grips with the fact that I won't be living in one room and that I can have a bathroom all to myself and all that kind of thing! I was quite shocked the mortgage offer came through and there are no real issues
I think once D-Day comes closer it'll seem more real and then I will be properly excited!!
(although when I look at my cabinet I get very excited!)
And I'm at my parents for the bank hol weekend, I have boxes of stuff up in their loft so my mission is to sort it out ready to be moved to my new pad. I think that will be exciting - getting my books back :TI've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Oh, yes, redeemed some survey points today into £20 of argos vouchers and I think some of it will go on this very exciting purchase for my flat :rotfl::rotfl:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

And Hello Holly! xx
And Hello Buffy - haven't seen you posting in my attempts to catch up - how are you???
And Ms Mop makeup - loved the idea of a display cabinet making its way across London on a barrow or something of the sort, but glad you found Plan B. Have you got loads of stuff to get for the flat, or are you pretty much sorted once you have picked up your books?
It's good to be back. Missed you all... :beer:0 -
Hello all
.
Welcome back Hollyberry:j I hope you are feeling better. Yes I have been ebaying and become quite addicted:D.
Buffy, I am also a member of the bootcut trousers and fabby shoes club, I'm 5'2ish and bootcuts are fabulous for balancing out my over large hipsand they are lovely and swishy:) if I wear any other type my legs look like skittles:(. I can't wear wide leg trousers though, I am quite small and they make me look square shaped.:(
gwen, sorry to hear it didn't work out but it may have been for the best even though it may not feel like it at the moment, you really don;t need the additional stress of someone with a lot of problems, you must put yourself first.:A Totally agree with Lula re paying sites, if you are serious about meeting someone it is probably the best way to go.
make up, fab news re the mortgage:j I too have a load of stuff stored at my parents waiting to be moved into a new house, especially books, can't wait to get them back. Am :shocked::shocked: at £23 for 2 drinks!
I have realised that in the last 3 and a half months I have lost 4lbs:(:o That is not good enough so I am going to redouble my efforts, if I can lose another 3 this month that will be half a stone which is not great but sounds much better. I started this diet in mid June so I would like to get to 2 stone lost by then which is about 1lb a week which can be done, although not by my current standards:o.
Hope everyone has a good day:)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Welcome back Hollyberry :j
I love the colour of your new cleaning equipment makeup. I've tried various mops over the years & have now resorted to the simplicity of hands & knees with a bucket, brush & cloth. I'm the same with the bathroom, if I havent given it a good scrub then I feel that it's not really clean
.
But I dont want to dampen your fun purchases so go ahead & enjoy
I feel that I may need hauling back into frugality ... or maybe I'll just talk to Shoe Gal instead :rotfl:I need DD to go back to school soon & I also need to get back to hideous home-job quick.
It has come to light that home-job provides me with my pocket money :T, which I tend not to count as real money. Today I had to exchange DDs pyjamas. She was with me & I also ended up buying her some shorts, cropped jeans & a game for her DS - it was a pre owned one so fairly cheap but still, I wouldnt have bought it if she wasnt with me, ditto - the jeans & shorts . The she wanted a new cake tin - couldnt really refuse that & some more paper cases & potato masher. £45 later ...
Having discovered that last year's work linen trousers no longer fit round my fat @rse I had to exchange the ones I bought last week for a larger size. This however, has not stopped me from bidding on another pair of jeans on ebay.
Hang on, I've not finished yet; I'm about to buy a new wardrobe too. I have been searching for the perfect item for some time & was quite prepared to buy an old one & revamp it but havent located one of the right size & style to coordinate with the chest of drawers I revamped. I have however, found the perfect item brand new & reduced from £300 to £240 + 3% via Quidco.
I am quite patient when it comes to buying homewares; preferring to make do with what I have until what I really want & can afford appears.
Having just saved myself a few hundred £s in interest by doing the balance transfer I feel I have earned this itemIt may well last me the rest of my life :j (especially if I buy the matching 6 drawer chest too)
I think I'll pay with my cashback CC & earn a bit extra too
* runs & hides while sarah prepares to launch full scale attack*0 -
Yippee! Was just about to launch into a ramble to justify putting £20 on my scary CC but after Lula has just popped £240 on hers I wont bother!!! I have only got £28 to last til eom (the 29th EEK). I'm really annoyed at myself as i've overspent so much on fun this month. I WONT do it again bit I do have 3 days off together next week and would like to be able to do something other than sitting in with them! This will let me buy some booze so i can have mates round and get down to mums if I want to pay them a visit. I may even chill with a takeaway tomorrow now as my mate has cancelled me! 5 wk months are horrid!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
