  • Hi lincs (that short for lincolnshire? If so, we're in the same county!). I agree with what everyone else has said...it's all about getting out there. I understand that shyness can hold you back, it certainly does me, but sometimes nothing can more forwards unless you do :) baby steps help! I joined plentyoffish for a while and had a couple of dates with nice guys from it. There are some very strange creatures on there but it's free so worth trying maybe?

Hope your friend is ok too!!

I took inspiration from Shoe Gal and have gradual tanned twice this week, feeling better for it. Got a funeral to attend though today so getting dressed up smart for work felt bittersweet this morning. Bought a few things in the sale to put on ebay, and the bits I've got on at the moment have watchers and a couple of bids already. Need to put photos on now I've got my camera lead. I guess just seeing the money going out my account and it not having gone back in yet is a bit demoralising :(

    Hi guys,

no home job work today. Although it's nice to chill a bit, it does mean less money for CC repayments .

Lincs - as to working shifts & social life, you might find it helpful to meet other people who also work shifts eg firemen, policemen etc ;)

It's apparently due to snow here again tonight :( so must whizz off to the shops to panic buy :rotfl: back later

    xx
  • Thanks lincs, it was very sad but it was lovely to see what a well thought of and respected lady she was.

Glad to hear your friend's ok! Did she have a boy or a girl?

Depending where you are in Lincolnshire I know of a speed dating event coming up, although I'm aware it's a big county lol. PM me if you like, no worries if not! Definitely liking the sound of dating a fireman...maybe I'll become a shift worker :D

Hope the snow's not too heavy Lula, we're just looking dull and cloudy here.

Evening babysitting planned, bit dull once little lad's in bed but it'll earn me a bit of extra cash.

Going back to work has confirmed what I suspected, I absolutely hate my job and want to leave. I really truly hate it.:mad::mad: In fact I hate having a job of any description but I don't think I can retire just yet. It's not really the right time to be looking for a new job though and I can't think of anything else I would like to do.

I hate this. Nothing is going right. I think all that cabin fever has made me depressed, I feel really weepy and unhappy. I want to strangle my flatmate. I need to move out of here but I just cannot be doing with all the stress that would cause.

Awww Sarah, I have 3 women at my work that I refer to as the three witches who have been doing my head in this week, when one of them isn't in its ok but when they are all in its horrid, all they do is moan about how much they hate the place but one has been there 8 years!!!

I am hoping to get another job this year cos I can't afford to live off my wages and save up a decent house deposit, I like my job though but just no chance of a payrise for second year running.

Or I get a second job at the weekends but don't think that would do my health/social life any good....not that I really have one as all friends taken/married/unemployed or live miles away!!!

I hope your mood improves, anything nice to look forward too?

I am going out for the day on Saturday and I have just opened a chocolate orange. Not much but it's a start icon7.gif

Every little helps Sarah. Have you looked at what's out there hon? Have you thought about going to the Careers Service for a chat? What would you do if you could do anything? What do you do just now? Sorry for all the questions, just want to see if I can get some ideas.

It's so difficult, I have a reasonably paid job so I can't really go for anything with a paycut as I want to get a decent amount of money saved up and my credit cards paid off first, which may take a while. I have no idea what I want to do careerwise. icon9.gif It is so difficult with just one income and trying to get out of this horrible house. I feel a plan coming on.
