Single and in Debt Part 3- The problem of surplus and excess women

Hey CaroleM - I got the 'Yeah! I made it myself' book for Xmas from one of my friends! :j Very excited about all the fabby clothes that will make over the coming year!! Also excited about learning to knit, it is ridiculous that I'm unable to do this as I can do most other sewing type stuff.
NYE going to some friends who live not that far from me. My friend's flatmate is away for weekend and so we are going to get in some wine and some top tunes and have a mini-party at his. He also has a large roof-top terrace so we might venture outside for midnight and see if we can see any fireworks!!!!!!! We might also go out for dinner first, all depends!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Thanks for all the nice posts, have calmed down a bit now:o:D. It is still my aim for 2010 though.Prioritise meeting a man and everything else may well fall into place. If I'm totally honest I feel like I've wasted years of my life because I've thought 'no man will want me...', 'look at my house, it's a state, I couldn't invite a man back here...', or 'I'll meet a man when I have my life sorted' and other negative thoughts, but the truth is the right man will not be bothered whether you have a house or not, what your wardrobe is like etc, etc. Just put yourself out there and give him a chance to find you
Thanks gwen, I know exactly what you mean, I have wasted forever planning my perfect life and I need to cut to the chase now and go get it.
Too many things are not as I wish them to be & just knowing that bothers me . But I struggle to be effective if I spread myself too thin so I have a plan :
I am going to focus on dealing with the first 3 & not worry about the rest, literally file them out of my mind as things to deal with when I have taken control of the 3 most irksome & depressing matters.
I think that's a great idea, I am always trying to get too many things sorted and end up doing very little about each so I will try to prioritise them.- I am sick of being single
- I am sick of paying things off and then running up new debts
- I am sick of the way I look
I will meet someone. I will be frugal and get everything paid off. I will lose weight and do some goddessing and wear nice clothes. Somehow I will find my way through it and making sure I am always heading in the right direction.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hello lovelies,
was woken up by delivery man today & the largest box ever. Inside were 3 other boxes, one pair of brown boots, one pair of black boots & one pair of gorgeously cute black shoes for work.
Love the brown boots & love the shoes - although will have to practise walking in them as they're higher than I normally have - not too sure about the black boots so will wear at home for a few days & then decide.
DD was very taken with the shoes ( they came with a spare pair of heel tips too :T) scarily so in fact, so I decided to whizz into town & try to get her some new school shoes in the sale. None in her size in the sale but did get her some really sweet pumps with a strap that she loves & a new pair of trainers as well. ( total shoe expenditure this month is £ 255 )
Tomorrow is the start of my new healthy eating plan. I will be avoiding cakes, biscuits, pizzas, sweets & chococolate - except for hormone related medicinal purposes. I'm not going to beat myself up if I need a treat but plan to lose about 1lb a week & when I reach my target size/weight will stay there.
Staying home for New Year with Gordon & my list of things to achieve.0 -
Hiya All, am bored there's nowt on the telly, I like the plan of tackling 3 problems. Was wondering how SuSu was doing earlier, cos I was thinking she took a chance and look where she ended up, which also reminds me I was thinking about Sarah and her plan to meet a man, earlier in the year Sarah went out with her flat mates to the pub, is this something you could do say once a month, then it might not cost too much but might be someone there who catches your eye?
I'm out with my friends on New years eve can't wait and I won't be home before 3, think make up's lucky to be going to her friends and I bet there's loads of fireworks which I love been the big kid I am.0 -
I'm glad you're feeling more positive Sarah. I think that even if you don't get exactly what you want in 2010 you might get something different which is just as fabulous. I read my horoscope on the Guardian website and it was really good - are you Scorpio? if so I'll post a link :rotfl:I know it is silly to be so influenced by things like that but if I get a good tarot reading or horoscope it really motivates me :rotfl::rotfl:
I've got lots of plans for 2010 but most of them link into two main goals:
My main two are that I want to buy a flat and I want to go trekking in Nepal in October / November.
In order to achieve the first I need to be a frugalista socialiser and to achieve the second I need to stop being such a larda*se and do lots of exercise and eat more healthily as I will need to be tons fitter.I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
I am a bit scared about the Nepal thing, to be honest, I'm really unfit and weigh tons more than I should.:o Although I ride a bike, it is only 10mins to and from work and I eat far too many treats which cancels out the benefit.
However I turn 35 this year and kind of feel I should do something really challenging and scary to mark it?!
Am intending to join gym, I get works discount which makes it £30 per month and that includes all classes, swimming and the gym itself and also sauna / jacuzzi - which I think I will need!I've got my own flat :j:j

Oh no, Buffy, you poor thing. Have you come down with a cold or something? Would a lovely soak in the bath with fancy smelly bubbles help at all??
Don't sneak out - you're among friends!
Why not see if we can cheer you up at all???
