Hmmmm Fire Fox, I think you have just nailed my main area of expenditure. Trouble is that I have a phobia of all tinned veg other than ready chopped & herbed tomatoes & sweetcorn. I am so used to having fresh stuff from the allotment that I do struggle in winter ... haivng said that yesterday I had to compost some leeks & carrots that were very very bendy & mushy
and then of course I had to go & buy more
The only veggies I buy tinned are tomatoes, supersweet corn, baked beans, chickpeas and kidney beans. I know it's cheaper to soak your own pulses, but "life is too short to stuff a mushroom"!
I agree completely fresh veg is generally far nicer than frozen if you are having it as a side dish, but I make a lot of curries, stews and bakes. Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Hey all,
MERRY XMAS! Hope you all had lovely days yesterday. I did! Didn't actually eat that much or drink loads as I was working today and had to get up at 6 to get a train up from Mums. Working right through but got loads of time off at New Year. Enjoy all XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
I know men are notoriously useless when it comes to present buying but sometimes their sheer ineptitude comes as a bigger surprise than normal. Picture a 34 year old woman with two children opening a bikini on X-mas day. Picture that bikini being of the type more usually suited to a 1970s adult movie with quick release dangly strings pretty much everywhere you look and then make the bottoms a medium and the top an extra small. Is that a subtle way of saying I think you have a fat !!!!! or hmm your boobs have shrunk in the wash. Add to this said female has never owned a bikini and would not be caught dead in one. Bloke in question is mortified that said female would even consider exhanging said gift although it clearly doesn't fit in a surplus boobs in arm pit kind of way. Do men actually think when purchasing gifts or do they run into a shop waving a piece of plastic and grab the most random things they can find in an attempt to get the whole shopping experience over and done with as quickly as possible?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Hope you all had a fab Christmas. Seems rather quiet around here at the mo. Are you all off shoe shopping in the sales?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Hello all, hope everyone had a fab Christmas. Am busy tidying everything up, I need my own house, it's not good for this much mess to be confined in such a small space.
TDQ, hope you are feeling better, being poorly at Christmas is rubbish
. Good job your neighbours had spare toilet roll:D
Moo, am very sympathetic to your bikini disaster:eek: nothing would induce me to wear one either:eek:. Hope it didn't spoil too much of Christmas day.
I am now beginning to panic about next year, I think it will take me about 3 years of being frugal to even be in a position to buy a house, was actually looking forward to 2010 and seeing how much I could save an how much I could get free or for next to nothing but am getting a bit anxious now. It just feels never ending. I really do need to meet a man.
I know that might not go down very well on this thread but it's true:o. Am sick of being on my own. I want to be in a house with 2 incomes. I want to have a baby and I am seriously running out of time on that one. I want to stop worrying. Hmm. Am not being very cheery or festive. I need to make 2010 my year so that at the end of it I can be in a much better position financially, at a normal weight and just feel more in control of my life. I need to stop going overdrawn and eating rubbish and drinking too much. Time to write out my 100 list I think. Emergency pep talk situation required me thinks ^
Sarah my lovely, oh fabulous one, oh wondrous justifier of all things naughty, I think you need one of these > :grouphug: or maybe 2 :grouphug:
First of all young lady
, this is your thread & you kindly allow us to hang out here so you have every right to declare that you are not enjoying the single life, the single income, the renting or the not having a baby ( I may be able to do you a deal on that but will come back to it later)
It seems to me that you do need to stop worrying about so much & maybe just focus on what you really do want. It may not be possible to get a house by yourself in the next couple of years, & if you find Mr. Right then you wont need to. Maybe you need to stop worrying about money, & food & buying stuff & just be brave, take a big step & decide that finding a man & having a baby is actually what you want most of all & just focus on that.
Seriously Sarah, if that's what niggles at you most then put all your efforts & energies into making sure that need is fulfilled first; above saving money, buying a house or being thinner. The right man will be the one who makes you happy & feel good about yourself, not the one who is looking for Miss WhateversizeyoufeelyoushouldbeinordertoattractMr.Right
Publicize yourself; you are a truly fantastic woman who deserves to be happy & loved & respected :A
Who knows, maye if you work hard at that & succeed, then everything else might fall into place.
Sometimes, we put all our efforts into trying to achieve things, but in the wrong karmic order, so we just struggle & struggle & dont get anywhere. If we change our priorities then it may work out more favourably.
It's worth a try so Good Luck
xx
PS - about that baby, my downstairs neighbours have one that seems to cry whenever I go to bed & I dont think they take any notice of it so in order to get my beauty sleep I am happy to relieve them of it & pop in the post to you

Lula I knew you'd be along with the right reply :A
Sarah you aren't in the wrong for wanting a man. I am only anti-men because I've been hurt and as I don't want any children men are just not in my plans. I agree with Lula, you are F Fabulous and you deserve to be happy, if a man is what is takes then that's what it takes, we're all different.
I'm trying to think of how you could meet a man, it's not really easy is it
How about dating sites? Not plenty of freaks... I'm sure there's plenty of decent blokes on there but because it's free there's too many freaks and people just messing about. What about one that you pay for? My Dad met his future wife on a dating site about 4 years ago, they're getting married next year and he's happy. Or speed dating? I'm attending a wedding next year of a couple who met at speed dating, they're an absolute perfect couple, perfectly normal and he is B-E-A-utiful...as is his fiancee. Or maybe friends can try set you up on some dates? I'm sure you'll already have these ideas but I really think you should go for it, if it's what you really want then seriously go for it.
I wish I could think of something more useful to say but I'm sure by now you know what I'm like
