Freebie tea bags too - great :)

I seem to have reached the stage where freebies & cash drip in most weeks now & it's a lovely feeling, because I'm now so used to doing surveys, & applying for freebies that it doesnt seem to take much effort.

I think we need to clarify this frugality that you've encouraged me to partake in next year ...

Are we being utterly bonkers frugal as in no unnecessary treats ? Or are £100 worth of treats still built in to the frugality ?

I'm impressed with your food budget & know that is one area I must tackle :o. I buy far more than we actually need each week & cant seemto shake the habit & I know the idea is to meal plan, but life doesnt always go according to a meal plan

Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

I am going for the above, not sure how long it will last but I am surrounded by unneccesary treats so I will see how I get on, might have to put some treat money in the budget for treats later on if I start wavering but I am trying to be like the woman who lived on a pound a day for a year and just do everything [STRIKE]on the cheap[/STRIKE] in a money saving way.

I can't possibly meal plan because I don't know what I want to eat until 5 mins before I start cooking it. Am going to begin 2010 getting through the food I already have in the freezer and cupboards. So most meals will include baked beans.

Scarily enough I'm actually glad we are going for the completely bonkers no-treat plan

I'm rather an all or nothing type so think it will be easier to have nothing rather than attempt to wheedle extra treats.

I have been stocking up on goddess style treats for some time now & have plenty of delicious body scrubs, lotions & the like. I still have plenty of makeup too thanks to the Boots freebies, so perhaps I should get the 500 points by stocking up on fragrance too  then when I do need more stuff I'll have plenty of points to use rather than money.

I've already decided to convert all survey rewards into amazon vouchers which will either do for presents or books. Oh, are books a treat
and OMG please tell me that we dont have to be sober for an entire year

I am too, all or nothing is the only approach that works for me.

I would get it as a last splurge and get the points. I have enough toiletries for a year :o:o:o so will not be getting any in 2010. I also have around £90 of points which I might use to get a camera and sell using the link make up brilliantly found.

Books are not a treat! They are one of life's necessities. :jI won't be getting any for a while as i have a large unread pile to get through.

Sober for an entire year:confused::confused::confused: Are you sure you are on the right thread? :D I shall have to look for penny pinching ways/vouchers/points/glitches as that will be where I fall down re feeling deprived and I need to make sure that doesn't happen.:D

!!!! no!!!!! I can do without sex and men but must have Vodka and Chocolate!

    (How awful does that look!!:rotfl::rotfl:)
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • And I am going for a moderation approach? I have spent too many weekends in getting fat this year. I want and need to see more of my friends, so I am budgetting (! a shock enough to start with) for one normal night out a weekend and my driving lessons.

  • Hi girls,

    New to this single,
    and in debt! Boo
This time three years ago I was debt free apart a small car loan of £2,000 now my debts stand at £10,000 :0( This is due to the fact I split up with my long term boyfriend, moved house about 4 times and after not being single for 6 years went a bit mad with nights out, clothes, holidays etc!
But now I have had my LBM and my will power is rubbish so will need lot's of help!
My debts are in my signature and I already have a budget in place that provides me with £300 spending money after bills but it never lasts! I have just moved jobs and my petrol bill has gone right up!
But I want to be debt free really badly, If I didn’t have it I would have so much more disposable income or maybe some savings (what are they!)
Anyway hopefully I will speak to you throughout my journey, merry christmas!
