Firefox - that sounds really tough. I hope that Noah is a good distraction. when does evil ex move out?

I've still no internet at home but have been lurking from work!

My friend sent me an email today about a magazine (Womens Own) who are looking for over 30's to go on blind dates (all paid for by the mag).

I was quite insulted! But then I thought maybe I should have been thanking her for the opportunity for a free dinner?:confused:

What would you guys have thought?
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Fire Fox - I have nothing helpful to say other than you are a wonderful person and deserve so much better - Mr Firefox is clearly a sexually incontinent idiot that wouldnt know a good thing if it jumped up and smacked him round the face....which is pretty much what he deserves, thinking about it. Just keep going and putting wonderful things in your life, like Noah, and it will get better eventually. Have a dodgy looking hug :grouphug: (dishing those out is the most action I'm getting at the moment lol :rotfl:)

Make Up - I think I would be insulted and tempted by the free dinner at the same time. Did you sign up for it?

Make Up - I think I would be insulted although the free dinner does sound good so could probably get over the insult!

Thanks everyone for the support! :A Mr. Fire Fox claims it was flirting that got out of hand, and that he wouldn't have gone through with anything had the girls taken him up on his offer. Except that he still can't explain why he did f*ck the other one, which presumably also started with harmless flirting.

The frightening thing is the half of me that loves him wants so much to believe that: best he goes for my sanity. He couldn't sleep last night and I said it would be worse when he was on his mum's sofa and he agreed it will be a nightmare. That really upset me. :( I think he will end up back in Cambridge, back in his old life.

On the bright side I have half a bottle of wine to my right, Pet Planet have dispatched my mega order of stuff for Noah, postie brought a freebie yesterday and another today! :D I don't know when Mr. Fire Fox is going, it's his last day at work today and he hasn't booked a hire car or organised any boxes for packing. Not really my problem tho!

Makeup any more news on the house?? I'd go on the blind date for a laugh - I did speed dating once because my housemate wanted to, and got a little squiffy so that I forgot to score the last few and got all confused when doing my matches online.

Sarahb I am confused as to why you would distinguish between essentials like wine and luxuries like fruit in your Co-op shop? ;)

:rotfl:I don't know how it happened either:D I won't make that mistake again;).

Sorry to hear it is still carp for you, it might get a lot easier when he has gone and you are not confronted with it all the time. Hopefully Noah will give you lots to do to take your mind of it a bit.

I managed an NSD today, although I am not counting them I am trying to have as many as possible. I haven't been working today as feeling a bit poorly, but work has been good for the past couple of weeks and looks to be quite good for the foreseeable future so am quite happy with that.

Am still trying to find out about new job which I really should have heard about by now, but am also thinking of another change within my career so one way or the other I should be able to manage a change and some extra income so fingers crossed. I do want to change career completely though, I really need a change, am sick of doing the same thing all the time. icon9.gif

I haven't done much today except mooch around or sleep, I am getting very lazy, so will try to do a bit of housework type things in a bit, I need to keep on top of things as I am trying to keep everything as ordered as possible so my life flows properly, if that makes any sense:o

    Today's list:
    • NSD
    • coins in piggy
    • £2 coin in pot
    • read papers online
    • received Boots mailing with lots of points coupons
    • received Sainsbury's mailing with money off coupons
    • moved money to ISA (work bonus/holiday pay/overtime:j)
    • paid electricity bill online to save stamp
    • store cupboard meals
Think that's all but quite happy with today, especially being paid:D. Hope everyone has had a good day.
    Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000
June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40
    Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j

Thanks! No I did not go for it. It is for Womens Own magazine - I think of that as the mag my Nan used to read. In my head I am more of a Vogue / Elle / Glamour gal....

No news on house so far...... Driving me crazy! Hopefully will find out tomorrow but based on communication so far..wouldn't be surprised if they decide to write me..during a postal strike

Firefox - some of the others have given brilliant advice and I can't really add to it. Except to say 'hang in there'. Things WILL get better and you WILL get a new perspective on it after time. You are doing the right things and I hope things improve quickly for you.

Also I forgot to comment when you said you were no longer 'slim, confident, fun' and I have to take you up on that point.

You are lots of fun on this board and no doubt on many others! Your confidence will come back when you realise that you have done the right thing. And really you have a lot to be confident about, you have given brilliant advice on here and come across as an interesting, fun and F FABULOUS person

  • Hi firefox (i'm a lurker on this post:rolleyes:) a wise lady once said to me

"men aren't worth crying over and the one that is wont make you" and that is my mantra

I had the same thing and its taken a while, the feelings that i'm not good enough to be loved and that i'm gonna be single for ever still rear their ugly heads every now and then but i'm more in control,of my finances, my house, myself - i'm more myself and 98% of the time i'm happier being on my own than I ever was with that waste of space. i didn't realise how much my ex had changed me until a friend of mine hugged me on a night out and said how great it was to have the old DTDT back

    Hey everyone,

just getting in early today as there will be forum downtime tonight  & also I've been watching that Criminal Justice thing on bbc1 which does cut into my MSE time, but I now have to see it to the end.

Brilliant work sarah, on weight loss, moneysaving, isa-ing etc etc :A

Fire Fox, I really hope you are feeling a bit more positive now, the guy just needs to get out of your house ASAP. I'm not going on some femininst rant now as I love men (just dont want a whole one right now thanks ;)) but all I can say is that : it does get easier with time & it's quite frightening how many accidents of the trouser department go unreported each year. Really is quite scary how these guys can just trip or slip in somewhere with absolutely no warning whatsoever that it might be about to happen .

Believe me when I say that 'he' is not worthy of even being in your presence. I know just how you feel about having lived a lie & it's very unsettling :(. One of my exes was a pathological liar & it completely messed with my head & ability to trust anyone or believe a word they said. After 5 years of being in that relationship I damn nearly lost my mind as things unravelled, were revealed or turned out to have been complete fantasy :( . It's a really horrible feeling & the worst of it was that I then doubted myself & my ability to distinguish between genuine people & those who are just users.

I cant take the pain away for you but I can reassure you right now that he is an @rse & you are perfectly fabulous & there is absolutely NO EXCUSE in the world for him to have behaved in that way. I dont agree with pitying you & making you feel like a victim who has been treated badly. He behaved badly & so off he goes. Men are very good at staying somewhere they are not genuinely happy in order to have less disruption & an easy life. Dont be fooled into thinking this is remorse. You will get through this & you will be all the stronger & more discerning for it.

    Here endeth todays lesson .

I am having a NSD & knew there was a reason I shouldnt be, it's just popped into my head; I have no Pink Elephant  but I'm not going out now just to buy wine so will have to wait until tomorrow now.

hope everyone else is fabulous :D

I've got next week off work! Hurrah! And still have 5.5 days to take before the end of the year.

Being single and in debt I plan on spending the week at home relaxing. Hoping for some bad weather so I don't feel guilty for laying on the sofa in my pyjamas watching soppy movies. Have got Doris Day, Fred and Ginger, Love Actually, Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman lined up. And possibly Casino Royale to get my Daniel Craig fix!

Other plans - paint my blanket box (lilac), recover top of blanket box (need to buy fabric off cut), clean house, take some things to a local auction, get a cheaper car insurance quote.

Most important though is REST. Coming up to an insanely busy time at work and need to be able to cope. I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome just over 2 years ago and need to set aside rest time.

happy Friday Everyone, I got some nivea q10 eye cream in the post yesterday from a survey i did, it's £10 on the net, and I'll use it so lucky me.

Nic, I've never suffered with CFS but i guess it's no fun and when you have time off work it should be for rest as well as doing things you don't normally get to do.

Fire Fox Lula always talks loads of sense as she helped me beck in Feb when one of my school friends died, and she always say's it better than me but you are worth so much more and you don't need the carp
