So, the annoying bint is going round a perfect house, that's much posher than any I've ever lived in (or am likely to) ... and she was whittering on about "all this work we've got to do" ... eh?
What work?
It was a house you could move into and do nothing for 20 years.
Kirsty was right when she said she has a little bit of princess in her ... only thing wrong about that judgement was using the word "little".0 -
A few odd comments in this weeks episode.
Kirsty saying that the girl from couple 1 (the princess) wants a house "as well-groomed as she is", Phil saying that couple 2 had already wasted 7 months of paying rent.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. PN seems tohave disappeared so here goes:
couple 1: budget 210k looking for FTB home - 2bed house in Gloucestshire.
She is very opiniated and he agrees with everything she says. Then she gets annoyed that he only agrees with her without having opinions of his own. Poor bloke can't win; best bet for him is to get another overseas posting quick. They both have live-in jobs so they haven't spent much time together and it shows.
couple 2: 500k budget want a home in the countryside. Even the views of other houses seems to put her off. They are currently renting a beautiful open plan home (and pretending they are still in Australia).
It would be good to see how L,L,L would fair with a FTB couple on an average wage.0 -

once? I think the skew is partly because we the public like seeing smarter houses.
And making the public want something they cant really afford but which banks were only too happy to say they could?
Its crap shows like this which has driven society to become obsessed with owning a house(and to hell with the cost of getting it!!)0 -

we've just started househunting (FTBs) and were thinking about putting our name down for the show for fun ... but i think with me mooning over Phil (i know, disgusting) and my husband shouting horrendous names continually at Kirsty we probably wouldn't have been ideal "contestants"... Actually husband was out last night so it was peaceful to watch it without the usual torrent of abuse at the TV...
I did feel sorry for the young couple and was impressed that they didn't just start offering more for the house they loved. Think it was naughty of Kirsty to show them that house. We've only viewed about 5 places so far and already we're finding it hard to stop our fuzzy emotions taking over, which we've found unexpected and surprising as we're usually excessively rational with things, especially money.0 -

I'd love to have K and P find us our place. It was fun at first, but its just draining now. It would feel very exposing though, more so than here, because though you might be a little less open about finances, your name, face and address are there and then Pastures the sleuth would tell everyone it was an MSEer, and everyone would come round for a gander and there would be bear v bull fist fights and bricks through windows and all sorts.0 -

He's in the army and she's a nanny; that can't be far away from the average FTBs.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
