Thanks Mrs R - yup they are aren't they? Luckily we don't need a car for work, but even so, life is very difficult without what with ferrying the kids places. Still, I'm looking on the positive side and at least we have some spare 'money' floating around even if it is debt. Life could be a lot worse. It's not unaffordable to pay back, just a bit annoying.2010 Cost of Living Challenge - £901/£5300 * Grocery challenge - £117.91/£120 *Total Debt- [STRIKE]£6388.74[/STRIKE] £5995.66 :eek:Debt Free Reward Pot £11 * Overdraft vs 100 days £363.76/£800 *Feb NSD's 8/120

Well the damage has been declared and it's just a little over £700. Where's a 'gutted' smiley when I need it eh?

Was what we thought it would be so no nasty surprises, but really just not nice to have to pay out at all.
I won a whole £2.50 on bingobritain and managed to spend £1.00 of it before I realised as I forgot it would take that before my bonus money. But I still topped up and withdrew it.
Such a tightwad that I am to get my £1.50 extra!!
Going to update my sig later on.2010 Cost of Living Challenge - £901/£5300 * Grocery challenge - £117.91/£120 *Total Debt- [STRIKE]£6388.74[/STRIKE] £5995.66 :eek:Debt Free Reward Pot £11 * Overdraft vs 100 days £363.76/£800 *Feb NSD's 8/120 -

Thanks Pickle. I'm thankful that I was able to do it cheaply (0% cc and bank of dad). Just a bit annoyed as the 0% cc was earmarked to pay off some of the overdraft. I need to look at it in a positive light though. I'll get there.
Won £5 on BB this morning - maybe things are looking up??
Need to stay away from Grabbit board today. You never know I might manage a NSD

won another £10 on BB today :j:j Shall wait till Monday to cash out as still waiting for yesterdays to clear in the bank iykwim. Also redeemed for a BingoPort Amazon voucher. That's £20 I've managed since mid October I think?? Not bad anyway. I think I've decided to try for a cash neutral gift challenge next year so putting them towards that. My expensive toaster can wait especially as the one I have is going ok at the moment, not fab, but ok.
Yesterday was indeed a NSD. The first for this month.:T
Tomorrow I need to sit down and work out the figures to make sure we're ok till the end of the year. Going to start the cost of living challenge then. Strangely excited!! I like the challenges!!
I really must stay away from that Grabbit board though, managed to get one more Christmas pressie sorted though, just one to go which I'll get on Tuesday. Well except some of my kids stuff as we always get given money for them and we buy what we think they'll like. But that's other people's money so not as bad!!
I am hoping to also sort out an online shop tomorrow that will last me through the month so I only need to get fresh stuff as and when. The shops are getting mad now, I don't want to go anywhere near them any more!!2010 Cost of Living Challenge - £901/£5300 * Grocery challenge - £117.91/£120 *Total Debt- [STRIKE]£6388.74[/STRIKE] £5995.66 :eek:Debt Free Reward Pot £11 * Overdraft vs 100 days £363.76/£800 *Feb NSD's 8/120 -
Just another very quick update from me. I've managed another 3 no spend days since I last posted. Not too bad so far. I wonder how many more I can manage?
I felt so silly the other day as I had been casting a vague eye over the finances and knew we were doing ok and then got a letter to say I'd forgotton to pay the council tax. Arrrrrggghhh! Couldn't believe I had been so stupid. All paid now, but even so. Not like it's a small bill either  I need to keep a closer eye on things. I know that's one of my biggest issues.
Planning on doing to Cost of Living Challenge next year so that should help with keeping an eye on things if I can start off well.
OH got just short of £200 bonus and I got £50, we're hoping to pay off BankOfDad with it as I hate owing family money. I always feel like they must scrutinise how I spend my money if they are waiting to be paid back. BOD has said we can take the full year to pay it off and isn't in a rush at all. But I think I'll feel much better once it's gone. Faceless companies I can cope with owing money!!
Hope everyone has a great Christmas, we're all really looking forward to it here

Get you! OK, the council tax was a bit of a stinker (you won't make that mistake again but don't eat yourself up too badly), but it's nice to see you using your money wisely. Well done! :T And if I don't bump into you before then, have the merriest of Chrsitmases and may 2010 bring you everything you could want and set you firmly on the road to debt freedom. xPlease call me 'Pickle'

Thanks Pickle. We really wanted to buy a new tv with the bonus money, but tv's can wait.
Still argh-ing over the council tax, once the new year starts I'll get it onto a DD straight away.
