....and in response to the OP, I want to know:

    1)What is "Argo"?
    2)Why is it "voucher deal"?

I think we should be told.

I was referring to the OP buying a gift card/voucher and getting the promotional voucher
I don't think they did buy a gift card/voucher, though I can see how it could be read that way.
I think he normally buys stuff in Argos at this time of year in order to collect these £5 / £10 vouchers to spend on presents in December.

Next people will be saying they have been ripped off or scammed by naughty argos
  • I work for said company and find most people are surprised and very happy to be getting free vouchers with stuff they would be buying regardless. OK this time round the voucher offer is a bit different but you're getting more money (in voucher form) and no-one is forcing you to do it! Anyway you can always use the vouchers for phone top ups if you can't find something to buy.

I wasn't sure the OP meant vouchers but it does read that way. Why can't people use full stops!?!

    hi all

this is about the new argos voucher offer that's going on and ends on the 4 october.

well its one of them either love it or hate it changes.

i saw the add on tv like most would of thought wow nice offer more than the normal spend £50 get £5 or £100 get £10 vouchers
no it was spend £50 get £10 or £100 get £20 vouchers back thought wow nice offer and seems everyone trying to save that little extra having a little extra back would help.

so off i went today thought thats a start to the vouchers i normal pick up a little at the time as they been having this promotion offer around this time of year for a while and its a great help saving them all up for that more expensive present, so i spent just over £50 paid the lady with that she gave me the vouchers one at a time and said this £5 must be spent befor the end of october and this voucher valid from1st november to 30th november.
i was like errmm excuse me aint we normal able to spend the vouchers when every we want as long all by a certon month normal around xmas time as (i think most save them up for this purpose) to be told this is a new promotion and there going to see how it goes down.

well am sorry i'd rather have a £5 voucher for every £50 i spend and be able to save them all up to spend all together on that item that cost bit more.

    sorry for babbing :o

thanks for the warning as this is not clear from the ads on tv about when they have to be used by.

    Hi there,
would like to say that I am unhappy about these vouchers.....I have to buy my item online and then I can only redeem the vouchers that I will be given online again. How does that give me any advantage?

Ah, that makes sense now - of course! I thank you for clarifying this.

Clearly you're reaping the benefits of a classical edumacation. Or, indeed, endless Christmases watching the stop-frame animation of Jason and the Argonauts.

Still doesn't explain why there's a voucher deal on....... :(
