argo's voucher deal

Options
hi all

this is about the new argos voucher offer that's going on and ends on the 4 october.

well its one of them either love it or hate it changes.

i saw the add on tv like most would of thought wow nice offer more than the normal spend £50 get £5 or £100 get £10 vouchers
no it was spend £50 get £10 or £100 get £20 vouchers back thought wow nice offer and seems everyone trying to save that little extra having a little extra back would help.

so off i went today thought thats a start to the vouchers i normal pick up a little at the time as they been having this promotion offer around this time of year for a while and its a great help saving them all up for that more expensive present, so i spent just over £50 paid the lady with that she gave me the vouchers one at a time and said this £5 must be spent befor the end of october and this voucher valid from1st november to 30th november.
i was like errmm excuse me aint we normal able to spend the vouchers when every we want as long all by a certon month normal around xmas time as (i think most save them up for this purpose) to be told this is a new promotion and there going to see how it goes down.

well am sorry i'd rather have a £5 voucher for every £50 i spend and be able to save them all up to spend all together on that item that cost bit more.

sorry for babbing :o
everyone is wonderfull well all most :A

  • yes, i was looking to order something online and the offer is even worse for online as both vouchers have to be used the same as above, but both online - therefore you are going to end up paying for delivery charges twice too.

Damn you Argos, giving people vouchers for nothing!!

Just don't use it if you don't like the fact that it has to be used on certain dates, you won't lose out. They do that so that it brings people back into the store at these times.

I dunno guys went down there today and had my wee money saving head on... Spent £54 with the intention of coming back on payday to get a tenner off a wee pram for the wee mucker... Promptly asked for a refund when the real offer was revealed to me. They don't exactly make it obvious online, although they do at POS.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that the wool's been well and truly pulled over their eyes?

I know read the details but...

Won't be shopping there for Crimbo

Put the second voucher in the bin and you'll be able to do just that.

my point i was making that you so nicely quoted

was i would rather have £5 less so not the £10 for the £50 i spent and be able to save them up and spend when i wanted not in the 4 weeks time frame given.

am so glad you dont find the need to save any vouchers towards chirstmas, that your answer is to put things in the bin.

But if you don't agree with the terms of the voucher you can take back the item and get a refund and return your vouchers. At the end of the day Argos aren't charging you for the vouchers so they can put in whatever terms they want. They could put in a term that means you can only spend the voucher if dressed like a pirate. For example. If you don't agree with the terms then do not use their voucher. At the end of the day your getting something for nothing. I am sure there are plenty of small presents for £5 you could buy with it as stocking fillers if you can't find anything to buy before it runs out.
