They could put in a term that means you can only spend the voucher if dressed like a pirate. At the end of the day your getting something for nothing.
Saying that, however, the advert I saw on TV said reasonably clearly that different redemption timescales applied to the two vouchers.
I wonder what the vouchers will be selling for on eBay. Maybe you could sell both vouchers for a fiver plus costs and be in the same position you were last year.0 -
How about this...
Go to Argos in October and buy something for £5 with the October voucher.
Take it back a few days later and say you've changed your mind but have lost your receipt.
With no receipt you should get a credit note.
Do the same in November with the November voucher.
Then in December you'll have two credit notes for a fiver each which you can use for presents.
Don't know how legal this is and if there are any risks...0 -
I thought you couldn't get the free vouchers when buying gift vouchers/gift cards? The terms and conditions of this promotion say that the sale of gift vouchers/cards are excluded from this offer. Great if they are included!0

Your getting something for nothing, stop moaning
Yeah... I know it's something for nothing but it's a cynical tactic and you know it... You do know it don't you? Unless of course you just enjoy coming online to this forum and dismissing people's opinions.
Argos will get a lot of sales from people who have been hoodwinked in the same fashion, who would be too embarassed to demand their money back.

As long as its not on sale for £2 when you take it back and as you do not have a reciept to prove the price you paid for it only get £2 back.0 -

I was referring to the OP buying a gift card/voucher and getting the promotional voucher - this is not allowed under the terms. The OP was frustrated at receiving the promotional vouchers with time-limited spending even though the OP was not entitled to receive them in the first place.
Argos Terms
If you are spending £50 or £100 on something then you can buy the item as normal and get the promotion. However, if you are buying something for more than £150 then you would be better off buy the vouchers in separate transactions of no more than £100 and using the vouchers you just purchased, along with the October promotional vouchers immediately. You'll then have the November promotional vouchers to spend next month. It's a potential loophole as it allows you to spend some of the vouchers immediately and benefit from more vouchers than you would've received if you just purchased the item!0 -

Or in your case, get an adult to read it for you.0
