If you are still uncertain who is stealing your post carefully open a stamped envelope sent to you and replace the contents with an old CD you no longer want. Wait until you hear the post delivered and add your letter to the pile and wait.

If it disappears then it is an 'inside' job.

Two weeks ago my mail was being delivered by a posh slacker (xmas temp relief worker) to another street (instead of the usual trusty Postie who recently resigned). The generous old guy getting my mail, who lived in that other street was a very decent honest person and even re-delivered it several times to me over a few days (long walk he took, poor guy, 3 cheers for honest pensioners!). I complained through the Royal Mail site and I recommend you do that too (fairly easy after you register).

have you read the thread or just the title?xmas temp in September?

I was debating whether to go ahead and proceed with the complaint to RM. I'd love to say we have a good postie but he's not and I wouldn't rule out the thought that he's the nicking my stuff. I know you seem to only hear about posties when something wrong is going on but I have good cause to suspect this man.

I've been advised to also report this to my local police and get a crime number. I wasn't too sure about this as I didn't want to seem like I was wasting their time, but things are getting out of control now. I have purchased an external hard drive for £80 from Amazon and though I sit everyday hoping it's going to be delivered I think I can now wave goodbye to it.

I'm feeling quite despondent. I know none of the other neighbours aren't going to help me fight my housing association to get individual letterboxes but I'll try anyway.

until you secure your mail delivery point(s) theres little RM can do
look at the timescale you are talking about, iwould be surprised if you have had the same postie over this time.
i dont think theres a duty in my office thats had a postie over 2 years

No it's a different postie but some of the things me and my OH have seen him doing certainly isn't in his job description.

On numerous occasions we've seen him sitting outside in his car, blaring music so loud it rattles the windows.
He takes mail from his boot, goes through them, puts them back and just sits there waiting. Eventually a school girl turns up, they're both in his car kissing then they drive away for about 30 minutes, return. She gets out and leaves then he starts to deliver the mail.

Oh we've also seen him delivering mail in the middle of the night.

lol how did i know he would be delivering from his car.
when will these posties learn and when will RM see the bigger picture.
RM love posties using their cars as it saves them on van costs and van driver wages!!
if posties didnt use cars then they would need more staff/vans but i also means no postie would have any reason to put anybodys mail in their car!

Him delivering mail from his car didn't seem out of the ordinary I've seen other posties do that, his other actions are weird though. I mean, you'd think the girl would change out of her school clothes first...
