You can arrange to have your mail kept at the local sorting office for you to collect. Not ideal but may be a solution.
I think that's happening to a lot of people just now whether they like it or not. Not sure you're able to go an collect it though unless you want to sort through it while you're there:S

so youve got a flat, in a conversion, from a housing association.
but they havnt provided proper letterboxes for the tenants?

i would ring them up & ask them when they will be fitting them.
your paying rent to them for a residence, not a houseshare. i would say that means you have your own front door, & therefore your own letterbox.

How far away are the HA offices? Ask for all your stuff to be delivered there and pop down to collect it. Inform the HA that if they don't like it they should provide you with the means for post to be delivered to your residence.

Royal Mail are only responsible for delivering to the correct address, not to the person named. After they have done that, security is up to the individual. So a complaint to RM would be a waste of time.
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !

I've left a note for the postie asking him to ring my bell when he posts our mail.

I'm now determined to get my Housing Association to provide all 5 flats with individual letterboxes, so I'm trying to find the right person to talk to and quite prepared to go through any channel until it's done. I believe I have a good case as there has been other suspicious activity that have built up over the years.

Besides my Housing Association still owe me £80 from 14 months ago if it meant they used that money to install a secure letterbox for me I'd be more than happy. I don't see why I should be out of pocket but if it got things done sooner so be it.

I know, and I have used it a number of times as well as other services including Re-direction which, despite the problems other people on this forum seem to have had, I have found excellent. It was just a facetious post making light of the fact that at the moment their regular standard mail delivery service isn't such good value, and when you do go to collect your mail (if you use call & collect) you may find yourself doing more than you bargained for.

i recently delivered to a converted house i assume is similar to yours.
this was an old folks place with 5 flats.
went up the drive(posh area)and near broke my fingers as they had sealed the letterbox on the inside
buzzed everyone and eventually got begrudgingly let in.
got in and found no letterboxes on any doors
knocked on the doors till someone answered, only to get a rant of how i should have left the mail in the hall
seems they blocked the letterbox to stop them getting flyers, menus etc
