well i went to t's today, to do my shopping (had £80 gift card to spend before i get shouted at for going there! ;))
i do plan on the boycott now;)

bad news posters up everywhere, not a sign of a coupon, empty shelves (usual for lax tescos)

good news was it was really empty, this is going to hit them really hard.

and gill if you are out there, thanks for all your support with regards to the email i wanted to send, both our posts got moved and i still dont know why?

i would still like to get that sorted, maybe we could work together on that;) seeing as you were glad to put an input:A (apart from mads , of course!) what is he like;)

I'm signing out for weekend, but just wanted to wish Blue a great time for tomorrow.

Catch you all later folks - i hope we keep the thread going regardless!

:TThanks techspec, I think I have my hols booked at the right time ;)
I have just been to Tesco's (to take something back, not bought anything) and then went to Asda. I spent £18, (would have spent more in Tesco, so they have lost that and more) and got some Stereo headphones for my MP4 player for £1.15, so there is bargains in other shops,:D. Only problem was I got lost in Asda and didn't know where anything was:eek: Oh well, will soon learn;)
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

  • I was speaking to a friend today whos son works for MrT. He has told her that they believe that the ban maybe temporary. Tescos will look at this again in 4 weeks time to see if their sales have been affected. So I will not be shopping at all in my local Ts. I only hope that this is true. If not I have a glimmer of hope as Waitrose are opening up beside me.

You know, a lot of the bitterness and abusive comments about this site's owner in this thread does not make for attractive reading and imo is rather against the spirit of MSE. It is a fantastic resource, not just for people looking for discounts and freebies, but also for people desperately seeking advice about a whole range of things from house buying to benefits and beyond. But do people really expect to have their cake and eat it? You want this lovely free resource, undoubtedly the biggest site of its kind in the UK, and have the owner keep quiet about all the tips and tricks so that a select few alone can profit? Get real ;-)

The way I see it, yes this site belongs to Martin Lewis, but who does all the posting? Who finds all the answers, who does the reseached? The answers are the all the members. Martin is here to pick up what is good and what is not to let the general public know. Without the feedback from the general members this site or any other sites will not survive. The more new members on any free sites have, the more £££ they will generate.

I thought I'd point out a few things. Firstly, this site is massive and has no advertising. BUT:- LINKS THAT HELP THIS SITE

How this site is funded. Two types of contacts are listed. The first, which all have a * within the main body of the articles, help MoneySavingExpert.com stay ad-free and free to use, as they're ‘affiliated links' which invisibly take you usually via affiliate linkage or commercial money sites, which then pay this site.

Instead of biting the hand that's fed you by hurling abuse about the owner of the site you are using for free, how about just being thankful that for so long you were able to take advantage of a loophole - yes provided by the general members

DR. who-who usually posts replys in red (i think) as he likes to comment on certain bits in peoples posts;)
  • Not being funny but do you really think them not accepting coupons will have a big impact on their sales?

I really cant see it. Yeah there may be a vocal amount of people on this site but i just dont think there are that many people always taking vouchers for items they havent bought.

Good luck with what your doing but im afraid i cant see it being succesfull

    Cooeeee everyone :)

Have emerged from behind cardboard boxes.........temporarily for the minute at least

I have had a very hectic/stressful/emotional few weeks and am back for some sanity :D:D:D - until I went to my Mr T's today and saw the signs _pale_

Do you know what - I thought they were there just for me :eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl:

Another new rule that was pointed out to me was put under the big blue sign with the terms & conditions behind CS desk.

"When you return an item all the clubcard points will be removed that you got with the transaction"

Customer Service told me it is because of the recent promotions like the extra points when you bought the perfumes etc. People were returning the perfume but keeping the points. This was also on the memo and Nationwide.

They also said they were totally baffled by the sudden change in the policy as they first they got it was at 14.59 yesterday

    xx
