Glad you're feeling better Simply and I'm sure the legs will be back to normal soon!

Yep hills done, well mostly one big one, missed my planned turn off though and ended up doing four miles instead of three :o Felt good though and pretty happy with 44:14.

  • Oooh, well done red. You must have been keen if you missed your turning - especially on a hilly run :rotfl:

Another squelchy one tonight but it was just a gentle recovery run so no problem.:D

Becky managed to complete her dreaded recovery run this evening covering 8 miles in approx 1:24..... so a good solid week of training so far!

Simply - pretty good fartlekking there on 'non-tigger' legs. You're experiencing the effect of moving up a level post-marathon due to the new leg strength. All looking good.

Red - You cant beat hills for getting you fit, glad you enjoyed it!

KMS - Sounds like an eventful (and scenic) race.

Beer Tins - It sounds like your waistline needs to escape the US:eek:

Hi there, there is some great running here at the moment. Fast intervals and great tempo runs so well done everyone!

I managed to get out last night with the ladies running group. I wasn't expecting much as I've been down in the dumps recently, but I was really surprised. I ran 5.17 miles at 8:57 pace, so that is faster than I have run in ages. It perked me up a bit and I'm really pleased that in fact I do still have some pace in me.

I went to the gym this evening, but only for a little while as DS was with me and we have to be out by 7pm. Still, it was enough to get a bit of a sweat on and the blood pumping round my veins.

Becky - Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday. I'll probably be running at a very similar pace to you. I need to get more miles in my legs before I dip under 2-hours again! I hope the weather is kind to us.

My waistline is already trying to escape. Outwards. In all directions :rotfl:

I think returning to my normal routine, plus gradually upping my milage in preperation for Blackpool should sort that out. The Christmas silly season next month may work hard against me, though!

I'm think I'm ready to go home now. And not just for you-know-what :D

Excuse my constant, er.. "snuggle" references. 2 weeks enforced abstinence has the same effect as a huge endorphin hit on me!

Thats promising, Chickadee.......you havent slipped back much at all if you can runat about 56 min 10K pace in training.....your racing pace would probably still be approx 53-54 mins. So you'll soon be back to running your best times.:D See you on Sunday!

Beer Tins - It looks like its a race between your waistline and your endorphins as to which can get out of the US first!:p

Wow some good running there :D

I ran 2:08 at GNR and thats not flat so 2:10 should be fine for training, but if the mood catches me at 10 miles I might speed up a tad to get in around 2:05, been feeling pretty good this week but am tired now so we shall see :p
  • Got out on Tuesday night done 6.8 miles in 58:57 and for being only once a week at the moment felt very good as if I could have went further but time was limited!!

Going to try and do 4 miles on the treadmill tonight!!

I have to say I'm so impressed with everyone at the moment (okay except maybe BT :p).

The work thats going into improvment is just massive from everyone - so great to see everyone smashing WAVAs and improving long runs - its makes me excited for this time next year (when I just might beat one of my own pbs )

And good luck to Uk for Sunday!!! :j:j

well said becky, now I'm really itching to get out!

I'm at home but with poorly ds, had to leave work early yesterday to take him to GP - he has an ear infection. So no time for excercise yesterday, fingers crossed for tonight!
