I see Dan Robinson had a good run in Amsterdam yesterday.....2:12:14.
Considering the fastest time by a British runner in 2009 before this was Andi Jones's 2:15:20 in London, that is sign that there may be a little life returning to the British marathon scene!:D
Must be all that prep he's been doing in Yorkshire with his runs in the Leeds 10K and Sheffield 10K.;)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

is all I have to say!!!!!!!!!!
No not really - what I am going to say is that I RAN a marathon today!!!!!!!!! I set out to run the first 20 at training pace (11:00/mile) and then take the rest as it came.
The result - 04:49:16 (10:58/mile) by my watch ........... and I didn't walk a single step.

Well your watch was being mean.....you actually got 4:49:14.
You'll remember the exact time of your first marathon so best get it right!;)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Thu 15/10 - 4m 45:36 (11:24/m)
Sat 17/10 8m 1:34:53 (11.51/m)

Thanks Rich; I was a bit slow stopping my watch at the finish - I was a wee bit overexcited at the time.
The photos should be online later today so if they aren't too horrendous I'll post the link. I still can't believe that I actually did it - is that normal?
Becky - how is your ankle? Is the swelling going down yet?
Idio - how did your half go on Sunday? I thought of you as I ran through the industrial park - I had an overwhelming urge to wave my hands in the air shouting ' Hellooooooooooooo Idio' but managed to suppress it on the grounds that I might have been carted away in an ambulance.
Well done Hannah; that's a good pace running into a headwind.
Happy running everyone
