And as for you Uk - sometimes you have to accept that your progress will stutter (especially as you are tired from marathon training!), even if you are disappointed use it as inspiration for next time :D

:rotfl:... But glad to know the that Rich got a move on he must have been feeling my breeth on his neck at the 5m stage :D...

and my eyes at the finish did say you snook off with haste....;)...but seeing as your leg would have been blocking the road we will let you off this time ;)

  • Congrats on the pg Saz :)

Ouch to tq - but very impressed with the determination. And double ouch to Becky - that looks nasty

Blakey - good result given the ankle and reduced training.

I plan to head out into the mizzle at lunchtime - need to step the exercise back up after a lazy week last week.

What kind of splits did you record, UK?

Despite the messiness at the beginning causing a 6:24 first mile, the splits for each 2 mile segment were:

    0-2 12:29 (12:29)
    3-4 12:25 (24:54)
    5-6 12:32 (37:30)
    6-8 12:27 (49:57)
    9-10 13:04 (1:03:01)

So a little bit of slippage on the last segment (those steps were not particularly welcome at 8 miles:rolleyes:) but other than that I was quite happy with the pacing.

I've got to say that club of yours has plenty talent. There were 3 out of the top 4 in my age group from London Heathside.

....Only time I know was the 5m time which was ticking just over from 31m - 32m as I went past it... ( thinking oppsss my legs are empty :rotfl: )..

The stairs I did not mind, it was the climb up to them after the muddy path of death and the dodge between the rowers putting the boats to bed !!!!!! :rotfl:..

Still was nice to run next to the river :D.

The 5 mile clock was on 31:12 as I went past so I should have been in your vision at that point!

I did think we had quite a lot of support along that pathway until I realised they were supporting the rowers!!:p

    Thanks for everyones support.

Becky- I'm still saying never again, but am proud that I did it, who knows what the future holds though (said the same thing after my first daughter was born! and I now have 2 girls and would love more!!!) My knee looking nicely swollen- though not like your foot. How are you feeling- hope it gets better quickly, though think the pen is a real fashion statement :-)
