    Thats a shame lurkio.....:(

Well done sparkles for getting out there in the heat - it certainly was a sapper today!

I did 9.5 miles in total - 8 of which was with run chum who did 4 run/2 walk, so I am mightily impressed with her, considering that three weeks ago she struggled to do anything at all. We are off out again in the morning, but just for 40 mins this time.

We both got bitten along the way though - a friendly horsefly wanted to run with us.....and got just a little too close for comfort :o

I am finding that even though I am doing run/walk with her, my own fitness and stamina is increasing too and my mins per mile is coming down - I even found myself glancing at my garmin a couple of days ago to see 7:30 min miles being done - unheard of previously! I know I couldn't sustain that speed long term, but certainly it has given me confidence to try and push myself a bit further on some of my solo runs to try and get my 10k and half marathon times down a bit over the coming year!

Well done to all those getting out there on such a hot weekend - it is 35 degrees here today!!!

    Well done Sparkles and Hypno.

After handing DD to my ex I went to the gym and started with pilates followed by cross trainer and cycle and finished with a swim. Shin still hurting so perhaps the cross trainer wasn't such a good idea. Felt ok while on it thou. Funnily when I am exercising I don't crave junk food. I have stuffed myself now with big salad with some roast chicken, olives and feta cheese. Yum yum... raspberries and natural yoghurt for afties :p

I will be running starting 26th of July the latest, I will, I will, I will...

brilliant news lurkio welldone you!!! 5k is brilliant! if you can do that already it isnt much of a stretch to 10k. my old run chum whom has now left me long behind was adamant when we met he couldnt run above 2 miles. he is now running 15m without a thought and found the jump from 2 miles to 4 was nothing, 4 to 8 etc. you'll soon be there!

skinty i know that groggy post work sleep feeling all to well. dont beat yourself up over it. tomorrow is another day and we will al be behind you... with sharpened metal boot spikes to gently "encourage" you out the door!!! :D you can do it!!! as i was running and getting more and more hurty i remembered a rhyme my mum used to get me to say as a child "i think i can i think i can i really think i can... I know i can i know it can i really know i can!!!!" i started chanting it in my head on the way round, yep may be sad but it bloomin worked!!! :D:D:D

I say that to myself when walking up hills and mountains! I will apply this to running if needed

I look forward to the metal boot spikes prodding me to go and to keep going :rotfl:
