Hi sorry to high jack the thread. Please redirect me if I'm posting in the wrong place. I've decided to have a go at running, but I don't have any trainers. Can anyone tell me what sort of trainers I should be buying for a complete beginner? Price is a bit of an issue so please bear that in mind!

    Thank you

I would go into a proper sports shop (not JJB, but a proper one!) and get a pair recommended.

Make a note of the make, model and size, and make an excuse about waiting until payday and WALK OUT OF THE SHOP.

Then search online, find the same pair at a much lower price, and order them, safe in the knowledge that they will fit!

    Happy Running :D

Thank you very much. That sounds like excellent advice, no price is good if they don't fit! And free advice from the shop to!

Well done - the hardest bit is setting foot outside the door, I find!

You are doing really well :T

Catspaw - bowing-036.gif You truly are inspirational!!!

Sparkles - well done for keeping it up!

I am still not running :( but on the other hand a little rest is nice. I am just getting paranoid about everything I eat now that I am not exercising. After just having dropped a dress size don't want to go backwards. Perhaps I can motivate myself for a little yoga or gym ball session tonight...

I've got a pair of Nike Zooms and a pair of Adidas ones (no idea of branding but they're black with a black and blue inner - the blue is the Adidas signs) and they are much more comfy to run in than my Zooms. And they were only 20 quid
