Hi mascott - Not great :( I think I tried to do too much too soon. Tried to go out Weds and had to stop, was hurting too much.

Need to rethink the programme (not that I HAVE one, but... you know.....)

Hope to do another parkrun tomorrow, then might do my slow run Monday and proper run Weds - change it round a bit.... am flailing around a bit cos I have no idea what I'm doing :rotfl:

Very best of luck for Sunday btw..... :T

Ahh, difficult. The only suggestion I can think of is to stick to 3 times a week and concentrate on the Long slow run, dont worry about speed for the others, just keep your legs recovering for the next long run.

And if its just muscle tiredness as you suspect it normally eases off if you take it very easy for the first 20 mins. So fast runs are probably not a good idea. If you go for a park run I would go for a 1 mile slow jog before at least. (i am writing this after you have returned.so next time..!!) and be pleased that although you didnt have a great run, you are getting out there!! so WELL DONE:T

Hope all you marothon runners are doing well, full reports most welcome.

I'm new and im not what you call a runner used to do a bit bit havent for years but i need to lose a bit of weight and get active, my plan is to build up slowly, so by the end of may I want to be able to run (jog) 1 mile 4 times a week, then by the end of june 2 miles 4 times a week - i guess you can see where i am going with this....then maybe sign up for the 2012 london marathon (marathon fever kicking in should wear off quick quickly :rotfl:)
If i can do this quicker then great but slow but sure.

Day 1 will be tomorrow before work....
