Yep - feeling good except my knee started hurting today. Gentle walk instead of run back to nursery to pick up DD this afternoon and rest tomorrow. Aiming for 4 miles on Sunday, rest day on Monday and then start increasing the distance of my long run on top of dashing to and back from work.ok...ok..... enough already!!
I have signed up this morning
time to panic, I think. Medics on standby.........
WOOHOO!!!! Well done Lurks !!! :j:j:j"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Well done Lurks !! :T
I am very chuffed indeed with my running this week. Despite having had DD off from school and having busy week at work thanks to dashing from nursery to work and back I have managed to log 17 miles :j That is my record. Also made another record today by doing my first continuous 4 mile run.:j:j
Have now updated my training log which is HERE
I tried to go to the other site yesterday to catch up with the posts but couldn't get the site to open. Will try later today to see if better luck."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

That is awesome going, marru! Well done!! :T :T
I did run my fastest 5k, by one second :rotfl: - I KNOW I can do better though, so at the moment I am really motivated!! (or is it panic at having a 10k to run in two months:rotfl:)
Out today despite having a cough and cold- and have worked out a good 5k for evening running
Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Well done Marru,
A lot of good running ahead I think. Dont push too much if your knee is hurting though, I am doing that for the marathon, and its not getting better. As soon as Im done Im having two weeks off to rest it!
So Lurkio, whats your new Park Run time, and where did you run? Well done, you are going to enjoy this 10k i think..Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

Hey, can I join you?
Part of my LBM was that I wanted to get fit, but not fork out loads of cash on gym membership....so decided to take to the open road!
Bearing in mind I use to moan about walking to the car let alone running, I wasn't surprised when everyone thought I was mental/would pack it in after 5 minutes!
I downloaded a walk/run plan which builds up (this has helped massively) and having been training 2/3 times a week since January (when there was still thick snow on the ground!)
I'm now up to 5 mins run / 3 mins walk for 30 mins, and I'm doing about 4k (I'm focussing more on time than distance at the moment). I've booked in to to a Race for Life 5k in July, so this has been a great motivation.
2 problems that I have had - getting a stitch, which really effects my running and also breathing, I really struggling with breathing in through my nose/out through mouth, I seem to 'pant' while running..!
I won't ramble on, any advice much appreciated, I look forward to following you all!Paddle No 16

Stitch I normally find is down to diet - I don't eat anything for the couple of hours before a run and I make sure I'm plenty hydrated throughout the day before hand.
The breathing thing's tougher. I rarely run harder than a pace at which I can comfortably hold a normal conversation...I'm quite staggered when I see people in runs that pant for the whole distance - seems like hard work to me. I'm assuming you're running as slowly as you possibly can already...if not, that's suggestion 1. Suggestion 2 would be not to worry too much about breathing technique for now...Your body's pretty good at knowing the best way to get what it needs...so try not to think about it and just let your lungs do their thing however they see fit. Finally, suggestion 3 would be to just grin and put up with it. Your fitness will improve and you'll find you need to breathe less for the same effort. Might take a while, but you'll get there.0
