Sorry, it's me again.
Rich can I ask for some advice on nutrition please? I eat a fairly healthy, balanced diet but wondered if I should be doing anything differently pre-Abindgon?
A typical day's intake for me would be:-
Breakfast - Meusli or toast with peanut butter and vegemite
Lunch - Ham salad sandwich or jacket pot with tuna or cous cous with feta cheese
Dinner - Stir fried chicken with noodles or stir fried beef with rice or spag bol or chops, potatoes and veg
I also have an apple, banana and slice of fruit loaf during the day. If I get the munchies in the evening I have berries with a low fat yoghurt.
Gulp, that looks loads when I write it down. Do you think I need to increase/decrease anything this week?2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

More pasta/rice/bread etc - lots and lots of carbs the week before!
No meat 2 days before (switch to fish if you want or just use tofu)...the night before the race have pasta and tomato or something like that and have an early brekkie of porridge or museli
Oh if you really want to you can cut out alcohol but I drank one drink the night before mine and was fine0 -

It is too much now - but in 6 months with regular training you could be blasting around
In the meantime pick a mid distance to train for (say 10k) and pop along to some parkruns - a few of us are based in London and I regularly do Leeds and occasionally Heaton Park as well if you dont want to go alone0 -

That looks fine, just try to get some good portions of pasta in there around Thursday and Friday and dont be concerned about calories or feeling a bit bloated...thats the feeling you're looking for.
But try not to overeat too much or eat anything you're not used to.
As for breakfast on the day, again dont do anything unusual...a bit of toast or muesli will be fine.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

:Tyeah thanks for that!
unfortunately none in Norwich.
I really enjoyed my run on sunday and as hubby works most evenings & sings at church sunday mornings i might make it a regular thing
really woke me up & it was safe with lots of people walking dogs.
plus hubby is considering letting me have a dog which means i can have a running buddy!:)
There is a half marathon in March so i might sign up for that one
