My first 8 miles for 3 weeks, or maybe more.

Started off well, well the first 1/3 of a mile, then to the right of me appeared what was a large black fluffy dog, appeared to be running with me. I looked again and it was MY dog..

Unsure how it had gotten out of the house, but when i first started running i took her out with me. I was sure not to go back, so tough luck, she was coming with me.

My dog is a collie/labrador, but she is old. So off we set on our planned 8mile run. I had to stop a few times for the dog to catch up, she had no lead, had to hold her crossing the road.

By mile 6 she had given up all, so i used the 40p i had to ring the wife to get to come pick her up.

As i was stopping & starting, i could feel the cold getting into my knees, and by the time she was picked up, my legs were cold and hurting.

Anyway, first 8miles complete. Not a good time, i have a belly & tits..

2x 8mile runs to go this week, and too see how thing go...

    Oh,

My running days maybe limited.....ill tell you in a few weeks..

well done on your run hannah, I avoid the beach in the summer at certain times as far too many holiday makers enjoying themselves, eating ice cream, playing etc. while I'm working hard :D

poorbabe - please can I borrow your legs for my run next week, I think I'm gonna need some of what you've got :o:rotfl:

    Week 5/30 (Blackpool)
    Mon12/10 10K 41:11 (6:38/mile) (Pulse 114)

Well that didnt turn out as planned!

It wasnt supposed to be a tempo run, the plan was for an easy run hence no warm-up but straight in from cold.

When the first mile passed in 6:42 without pushing it showed just how much easier it is running in cooler temperatures; it was the best part of 20 degrees cooler this evening than the last few runs...and it felt like it!

So, felt great...just got to work off a bit more of the holiday flab and I might just be able to keep up with UK for the first couple of miles on Sunday!;)

Simply- I can't believe you ahve signed up for another marathon already!!!- Thinking this will be my first and last, I have really struggled to fit runs around family and work. I had been hoping for 4hrs 30mins but after reading the route plan  , I will just be pleased to finish :D

Poorbabe- Fantastic result :jhow are you feeling now?

Hannah- well done on run, especially good if you had to keep trying to get round people etc. You really seem to have caught the bug :D

Welcome back Becky and Rich- Hope you had fantastic time?

20min run for me this morning (10.10/mile)- feels very strange running for such little time

I know what you mean and I now know NEVER to go to that lakeside on a warm sunny day (unless I am there with my picnic with no plans of running!) :D

    The 95% is WRONG!! ;)

It is far too early to be taking things easily...in fact a good 10 mile blow out 7 days before a marathon is seen by many as the perfect preparation.

Just got the number for Sunday - interesting to see that they've adopted the chip in the number method, I've only seen that once before at St Albans...seems to make sense.
