Oh, and the most amazing stat that they mentioned on Marathon Talk this morning:
The AVERAGE time in the London Marathon 2009 for the last 2km was......22 minutes!!!:eek:
That is truly astonishing bearing in mind that it is an average which takes into account all the faster runners running at 3-5 minutes/km.
What it basically says is that virtually everyone (say 90-95%) taking part in the London Marathon are walking by that stage and are therefore by definition not fit enough to run a marathon.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Well there is time to train, if you are already doing a high milage in training. If they are suggesting it would be a good time for a newbie to think about it, they could be promoting serious injury. Or worse.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Including the weekend away? If so that really is creepy idio. Do you think we are 2 halves of a schizophrenic personality? Agreed, but they are blatantly targetting newbies because if you were already in training with a good aerobic base you would hardly be taking advice from a charity about whether there was enough time to train.
The charity bandwagon is completely focussed on newbie churn and couldnt survive any other way.....:(Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
