    Mm flapjack is good!
If I left 12 hours after eating then ran I'm pretty sure I'd fall over - my blood sugar levels are very keen to plummet given the slightest chance, i.e. if I don't eat every few hours!

Just been looking at my average paces for each month last year (well from May when I started using Fetch to record runs). Don't know if it's interesting to anyone else but it is to me - had a few physical niggles Aug-Oct and a lack of motivation/ feelgood factor with the whole thing (obviously not for the whole three months but there's an obvious impact there). Liking the general trend over the last few months though :)

    May 11:32
June 10:34 (training average 11:04, two races average 08:34)
    July 11:03
    Aug 11:26
    Sep 11:17
    Oct 11:25
    Nov 10:37
    Dec 10:35
    Jan 10:27

Average for a tempo run (since I started doing them properly in Nov) is 09:18, hill work 10:48 and long run 11:10.

Yes I am a bit bored at work today :o

    I'm the same squigg!

My Dad (who was a competitive fell runner) used to swear by my Mum's home made flapjacks for energy (and smearing cooking oil all over his legs:eek:)

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Well my husband has never asked for a BT :p

As examples, the last time I'll eat before tomorrow's parkrun will be about 6pm this evening......so thats 15 hours before the race.

And then again on Sunday, which will be a 10 mile run at 8am followed by a 10 mile race at 9:30am, the last time I will eat will be about 6pm tomorrow evening.....14 hours before.

It seems the optimal way to do things for me....
