Still not feeling right, am now worried that I haven't been out all week! Not brilliant preparation for marathon but can't be helped.
Well done on your training hannah.
I like your plan for the week Simply!0 -
Hi Simply,
Yeah I'm out.......no traning done really since being ill. Although im being put to shame by Ukevas who is doing the race whilst ill.....i think i need to show more commitment!:o
Good Luck one and all.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

sinuses still giving me gip but otherwise feel better this evening, going to have an early night and fingers crossed I'll be back out for a short and slow run tomorrow. Hope everyone else gets better soon and keep running those who can!
Good luck for your marathon tomorrow poorbabe, will be thinking of you x0 -
I wouldn't run if I was feeling poorly either mascott so you're not alone.
Glad you're feeling a bit better evab; take it easy tomorrow if you venture out - it's time for you to start tapering anyway isn't it?
Uk - hope you're feeling ok tomorrow and are not too sniffly. You must need extra Vitamin C - fruit and nut is packed with it I believe???2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Yep should start tapering but thought I might do 7 miles a couple of times this week but very slow then next week chill out. I can't do any more I know it's going to hurt when I do the marathon .... blooming cold!
How are you feeling about next week?0 -
Is anyone not ill? seems to be so many bugs going around. Huge hugs and get better soons to all those that need them. :grouphug:
Simply- tapering seems very odd, and have found runs really hard- is that normal? thought I would love tapering as training been hard, but really missing all the runs. I managed 5miles today (10.20/mile) . 2runs to go:eek:
Goodluck to all those racing this weekend.(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -
I'm not ill! Did Roundshaw park run again this morning - I hate that route, same old 30:53 time, can't break the 30 minutes, like i can on any other bloomin' 5K route! It's a steady uphill gradient all the way until the last leg to the finish line - horrid!
Hannah, you're doing great - I'm not looking forward to my first 8 miler! You've already achieved that - did it kill first time?
Ukevas - we're seriously considering the Athens 10K - madness! where have you booked to stay?
Oh, and Nike sent me this free Nike Sportband - I've got a shoe pod to hold it on the top of my trainer - I can't make it work. Does anyone use one?
Think I'm going to do the Lexus croydon 10K next weekend - anyone else in that area?
Oh, and I'm getting either too cold or too hot running right now - think I need a long sleeve top - anyone recommend a reasonably priced place to buy?0 -

You've been so unlucky getting a cold at this stage but it's not worth trying to make up the miles now, better to keep your legs ticking over ready for the big day. I've got 10 miles tomorrow and then just 3 x 2 miles before Sunday.
I'm feeling pretty good about next week to be honest, I was thinking today that I've achieved far more than I thought I could when I started running this year. If you'd told me in January that I'd be running half marathons this year I'd have laughed at you so even getting to Abingdon far exceeds what I'd hoped for!!:D
tq - I've never tapered before either and like you I'm finding it strange. My legs were really tired on two of my runs this week so it will be interesting to see how the 10 feels tomorrow. I'm missing the longer runs too
bj - Glad to hear that you are fit and well. That Parkrun sounds like hard work, good for strengthening the legs though.Re. tops - I've bought most of mine online from Sweatshop but I only buy the sale items. I've managed to get some really good bargains!!

Your post prompted me look back at the beginning of my training schedule and it's only 7 months since 6 miles was my LSR - it's amazing how much can be achieved by building up slowly and consistently.bj-sailaway wrote: »Hannah, you're doing great - I'm not looking forward to my first 8 miler! I'm feeling under the weather too, planning a rest day tomorrow and hoping that it doesn't linger too long. Get well soon everyone xxxFollowing :money: to keep us debt free :j0
