buy interval training i meant going fast then slower etc, i hope i used the right words!:)
I'll report back tomorrow how my morning run goes, and on non running days i'll walk at lunch time. I've been using www.mapmyrun.com to work out my routes, its really good

Interval sessions are usually structured e.g. 6 x 800m reps with a couple of minutes rest intervals in between. And unstructured run going fast/slow when you feel like it is called a Fartlek session (no sniggering at the back). Anyway, like I suggested, slow and far is the aim for now.
Walking will help a lot. You can certainly do a walk every day, even on "run" days, no problem.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

This morning's run felt like I was running through treacle and my legs didn't settle in until about 3 miles - not very useful on a 4 mile run :rotfl: On the positive side it was a dry, crisp morning and the stars were still shining - a lovely start to the day.
Welcome to the thread blushingbride - quite a few of us ladies (omg that reminds me of Little Britain lol) run on our own. I tend to go early morning, stick to well lit areas with pavements and wear a high viz vest with a flashing light on the back. There was some discussion on lone running a few pages back - you might find it useful to have a quick read from the start of this thread (before it gets too long as it grows like crazy).2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

I would plan a simple 5km run asap, set a pace where you can start it, and continue all the way through without stopping, roughly time it and post the results up here.
I would say something like this...
<30mins - Press on to 4 miles
<40mins - 1st week of 3 miles (sun, tues, thurs), 2nd week increase to 4miles.
<50mins - 2 weeks of 3 miles, 3rd week 4 miles0 -

Well done hannah on the new pb.
welcome to blushingbride
I hope you're enjoying your tapering weeks Simply, your training has been fantastic
enjoy the hills kycu!0 -
well just be for my first run in ages!
We did 2 laps of a local park which is about a mile a lap. still along way to go to be good enough for the half marathon!:(
I managed to run the first lap non stop and we did a fast bit at the end.
Going to go on a longer run on sunday round a lake so that we dont have the choice of stopping!
i just need to build my speed & stamina0 -
well done bb, just concentrate on the distance and not the time and you'll soon find that it will build up. I set myself little goals as I run especially when feeling tired i.e. next lampost, next big tree etc. I find it helps me run further.0
