Just had a bit of spare time so decided to do some summary stats of 2009.

Its always useful to compare the bigger picture, year to year, so to speak. So, overall the calendar year of 2009 contained the following:

    No. Days Run: 270 (73.97%)

    Total No. Runs: 285

    Total No. Miles: 2,562

    Average Miles/Week: 49.27 Miles
Lowest Mileage Week: 25.0 Miles (post marathon)
    Highest Mileage Week: 95.0 Miles

    Average Run: 8.99 Miles

    No. Races: 62

    Breakdown of runs:
    >= 20 miles: 15
    15-20 miles: 7
    10-15 miles: 83
    < 10 miles: 180

    Best Times:
    5K 18:37
    10K 38:53
    10miles 1:03:02
    1/2 Marathon 1:25:50
    20 Miles: 2:21:51
    Marathon 3:24:17

I was a bit surprised the overall mileage wasnt a little bit higher but nonetheless it was a pretty solid 1st year of training.:D

    Hello!
I've finally shaken off the cold, but at the moment, I just haven't had time to go running. Have been looking at flats to move to, cleaning/tydying my house/room so it gets rented asap, been snowboarding on Pen Y Fan,been to see free films etc. But hoping soon to get some time to go out for a run. :)

Oh and neither of us made our yearly mileage targets:
    Rich - 3,500 actual 2,562
    Becky - 2,500 actual 1,551

    :p

That is a bit more than I would have expected.

Is it skewed towards the second half of the year, hence the current fitness levels?

No not really - before the marathon I was doing twice a day remember :D

Weekly totals then were over 50 miles a week - but I just cant keep that up at the moment due to the intensity (which seems to be where all the fitness has come from recently)...but I needed the high mileage low intensity thing the first time round to get the stamina if that makes sense??
