Sorry Becky I didn't mean to spread my germs on hereHope you feel better tomorrow.
It was snowing here this morning and given my snuffly state I didn't fancy getting cold and damp so it was another boring treadie run for me. It was a bit more entertaining going at a speedier pace on it but I will definitely be back outside for my recovery run tomorrow.

It was eerily quiet out there at what ordinarily would be rush hour, so much so that everywhere seemed echoey.
I was surprised at the pace of that run because I was consciously shortening the stride length to take account of the black ice, which was pretty much everywhere. So good signs on the strength front but I am getting a wee bit tired.

People in the 'real world' are the ones who give us strange looks for playing in the snow:D
Went out for another 10 miler, which turned into a 12 as the fog came down and all the snow got me turned the wrong way but at least the snnow was only ankle deep there. and I did find some very nice quaddies who pointed me in the right direction......as in......follow that tank love and you'll be fine:D but did manage it in 2.5 hrs, I much prefer running in the rain/mud.
Have an adventure race end of the month as well.Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

This shows plenty potential - a weekly marathon focussed discussion by a couple of people from Leeds, the Leeds parkrun founder, Tom Williams, and Martin Yelling:
http://www.marathontalk.com/
They are both 2:49 PB marathon runners but the programme seems like a good listen for most people....quite impressed by the format of the first edition. It includes the first weekly winner, Tess Hornby-Smith, who is a legend at the Leeds parkrun, she is such a great example of how consistency helps everyone. She was quite happy to keep coming last, week after week, but after 42 events she has slowly but surely improved from 58:40 down to 37:52 and is unlikely to stop there..........
Also, interesting interview with Liz Yelling, who is currently ticking over at 50-55 miles/wk and hopes to build to 80-90 miles/wk by February. For someone who was actually leading the last Olympic marathon that seems low, although she is coming back from giving birth. Interesting that her highest ever mileage was 119 miles, including a 27 mile run. Hmmmmmm........I wonder!
You will need an hour to listen to it but could well have legs, so to speak.:p
Who would have thought it - 2 blokes wittering about marathon running as entertainment!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Did 11.43m 2:17:56 which is 12.04m pace HR165. Not where I wanted to be but theres still thick ice and snow here althought the trail shoes help I reckon im losing 1min a mile because of it, well that and I havent run above 9m for a while. Still my legs feel really good this morning.:staradmin5k - 00:27:46:staradmin 10k - 00:57.03:staradminHalf - 02:01:15:staradmin5M - 00:44:07:staradmin0 -
Liz Yelling tweets about her running - shes not been well (stomach bug) so shes doing quite low mileage while she recovers
I saw that podcast but I cant use iTunes on my mp3 player rarrrrrr
Good running Catspaw, Mascott and KYCU - think of all the nice muscle benefit you'll be getting from those lovely snow workouts
Felling much better today but still tired so will hopefully do a 10k today and another tomorrow (when I get a nice lie in)
