Well, It's my third day of not running today. Getting a bit tetchy! Whole area is covered in ice and doesn't look like melting any time soon. Think I'll have to take my running stuff in with me to the city, which seems to be remarkably ice free. Maybe the powers that be have worked to avoid the debacle we had last time. So lunchtime run for me tomorrow, will have to work out a route where I don't have to stop every 2 minutes at traffic lights.
Hope the parkrun is on on Saturday, if i can even get to it! At least I'll be able to run in the park at the weekend, which will be snowy rather than icy.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

A slippery, slidey run this morning - just a little more snow overnight but it had frozen nicely. I ran on the grass verges where I could and was managing a very satisfying crunch with every foot step - Immature? Me?
Am due a hilly run tomorrow but will do a risk assessment when I set out - don't fancy sliding down any of those and landing on my backside :rotfl:

Its -8c out there tonight but at least the snow piled up by the snow ploughs has now compacted down to ice so is just about runnable.
If nothing else it was good practise for Saturday's parkrun because I'm pretty sure that we're going to be running on snow this weekend. With Manchester dropping down to -12c tonight I cant see much snow shifting in the next 36 hours before we go over there.
There were more runners than pedestrians out tonight, ie two!
Simply - Some good crunching done there. The immaturity is something to do with that reversal of the ageing process that Becky posted up this morning.:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Well I am pleased with that, was very icy/snowy for the 4 laps in the park - the cyclists were cycling on the path and I was running in the road :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Got a slight knee niggle but it didnt seem to be too much of a problem, however, tonight's run was the first (and most likely last) time that the trips out and back from the park were quicker than the laps in the park
Nice running Simply, if its too bad tomorrow there's always a nice walk
Rich - cant believe how quickly you are still going on all that snow :eek:, we might have to run separately on Sunday because I think I will be slooooow0 -

Well I dont think there will be any 20 milers going on this weekend if its still like this (10K was plenty tonight thank you very much), but theres always the chance that a bit of a thaw will set in before the weekend.....

2.08 x 2 out and back = 4.16
4 x 1.33 laps = 5.33
Ahh you are right its 9.5 isnt it??
Thats fine I was planning on an 18 so we can try the triangle for a few laps and two big laps maybe??0 -

Interesting you should say that Rich - I've been taking it a day at a time but with more snow forecast for the weekend I'm not sure my scheduled 22 miler will happen. It's been an adventure running on the snow and ice but it's not easy on the legs is it??
Becky - if it's too icy for hills tomorrow I'll run a flatter route or if all else fails there's always the dreaded treadie :eek:2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Not easy on the legs but I reckon you get more bang for your buck mileage wise.
You can really feel the thighs working away so if you can get more benefit in less time its all good news.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Evening, no run for me as the paths are really icy it hasn't been snowing but freezing cold and would be stupid to run. So an unexpected rest day but enjoyed a bottle of wine with dh that had been left at work for me from before Christmas.
I'm going to have free access to the college gym soon as surprisingly I been asked to help out with the Sports department and update my sports qualification alongside it! I never thought I'd go back to that but am very excited. I haven't done a lot but I'm looking forward to learning more.0
